The perfect day

Last Friday we had no rain.  It wasn’t too hot nor windy.  After a day of work we knocked it off about 4PM and enjoyed the perfect afternoon.

Colin put up the umbrella for me and I took a glass of wine out there, took off my hat and relaxed with a book and of course the view.

I thought that Colin would follow with a book or his guitar. Instead, as the lake was so clam which is unusual at that time of day he decided to go out for the first kayak of the year.

I thought that Colin would follow with a book or his guitar. Instead, as the lake was so calm which is unusual at that time of day, he decided to go out for the first kayak of the year.  Of course because of my biopsy I could not join him.  Maybe in two weeks.  That is Caeli laying in the shade of Colin’s kayak.

Two canoes? Our friend Barry who lives across the road hollered over to Colin to ask the que pasa question.

15 minutes later the pulled out Colin had Carmeh and Barry had Caeli.

15 minutes later the guys pulled out, Colin had Carmeh and Barry had Caeli.

They had been out a long while when they went across me. Colin now had both dogs with him. Turned out she was whimpering and wanted her Daddy. At least she does stay with me when we go out as a family.

The wer gone over 80 minutes at the very least when they returned.

The were gone over 80 minutes, at the very least, when they returned.  It really could have been longer.  If you really need to know, I did go inside to replenish my empty wine glass.

I am so very happy that Colin just went and took the kayak out.

I am so very happy that Colin just went and took the kayak out.  They all look like they had a grand time.

That same evening we BBQ ed our third Copper River salmon.

That same evening we BBQ ed our third Copper River salmon this month.  The smoke is from the marinade he dropped over the fish.  Last week we ran a piece of salmon over to Barry  ( his wife Rosalie was out of town ) .  Barry said that it was the best salmon he had ever tasted.

It was even better than any other salmon we had cooked. That is BBQ ed onion Ihave over my potatoe.

It really was a perfect day.

The very next day we had torrential rain and wind and it rained until about noon today.  I sure hope that all those with Father’s Day BBQ’s in the plans were able to enjoy the afternoon and dinner.
