Que pasa?
Since Colin got home it has been somewhat busy, what with his downloading, photo shop and me invoicing and just having at least one walk per day together not to mention all the daily to dos and unexpected interruptions. Plus he does have a job to do here and there. Tomorrow he is doing a 5AM shot at Predator Ridge. It has been hot ( finally ) and we even have humidity. The A/C has been on.
We drove out to the orchards the other day in my car and Colin noticed a vibration in the brake pedals. Not smooth but more of a bump bump bump. He had noticed this the first day he drove the car back to Kelowna. He called Lexus Calgary who told him not to be concerned as it was not a brand new car. Colin then called Lexus Canada, head office and they agreed with him that a certified vehicle should be just like new. On our second call to Calgary they advised us to bring it into Kelowna Lexus. We did that earlier today and they were extremely welcoming and gracious. Just found out a few moments ago that all four brake rotors needed turning. Done and at no charge to us. Cost would likely have been more than $1000.00. Good for Colin.
It is a different year for us. We do have more time together so far this summer which is a treat. Perhaps the Universe is preparing us for our retirement in two years. Yes we finally have a date, when I turn 65. So that means mid 2018, not very long from now. That includes 5 -6 months away the winter of 2016/2017 and again the winter of 2017/2018. Life is good. So we are only working half the time. However we do need to get more jobs completed. Seems like everyone is laid back this summer. Colin expects to be going 20 hours per day for September and October. I can’t believe that in less 2 months I have to start planning for our trip south. Time is passing swiftly. I ask myself almost daily if I am getting the most and the best out of each day? I don’t think I am and I need to make changes. I know what they revolve around and that is time. I know that I need to put my computer out of my reach for many hours per day. That beast really takes time out of my life. I fear I am addicted.

Good job with the car, and so nice that you have retirement on the horizon.
Wow! The entire day was an air show! Two more years ’till retirement… That is a good plan.
Those of us who are U.S. Air Force families call that noise….the sound of freedom. I’m guessing your military families do the same. An exciting day for sure.
