Even if I say so myself, wow!
It’s not the Isla but I still think it is pretty special. This was taken last evening.
Carmeh is doing as well as can be. She seems happy enough but tires easily. I think that can be attributed to her lack of food. I spoke with our vet, Dr. Susan, Monday and she agreed that we could cautiously increase her amount of food per day. Part of the concern is that we will need to transition her from the rice and chicken to the canned food and at this point she is only going to be on that for about 12 days before we leave. As we are also changing Caeli’s diet is it going to be a challenge. Worse case scenario Carmeh will have a pancreatic reaction to the canned but I don’t believe she will as she has had it before and it is only 4% fat. I am more concerned on how their bodies will digest and eliminate on only canned food. If need be we will have to re add kibble once in the USA. Lucky for us we are spending 18 days in the US this time rather than our usual 8 or 9 days.

Skittlez does not like kibble. She wants only canned food and doesn’t seem to have any problem digesting it. She does eat a tiny bit of kibble each day because it is the only thing available to her. So I have my fingers crossed for your babies. Thanks for keeping us informed on her progress.
I know the vet wants to transition to canned food. If for any reason that does not work out I am sure you could easily put her back on rice and chicken both of which you can buy and fix anywhere…just a thought. All you can do is hope for the best. I can’t recall but I think you guys have a vet in Mexico too? If not maybe time to put out feelers just in case. Glad she seems to be coming along.

I have a small ShihTzu/Bishon he turned 15 in Aug .we have had him for 1.5 yrs ,when we got him he was very skinny and was on dry food.we tried him on freeze dried and kibble all locally made but he did not do well on either.a lot of diarrhea .So then I decided to make my own I reachered a lot of home made recipes on Pinterest .i came up with my own recipe I boil a whole chicken then shred the meat .i generally end up with about 6-8 cups of broth.for each Batch I use about 2 cups of broth 1cup brown rice ,1 can 6 bean medley, (blended) carrots,peas,celery,yam or sweet potato then add about half of the chicken .once finished I use a mixer to blend everything.he only eats once a day in the evening he gets 1 cup if he is still hungry he gets 1/2 cup more. The Pisa de Restance is 1 tbsp of pure pumpkin mixed in on top. Our Vet has said to continue with the food as he is in very good condition .we cross the border many times and I tell them I have homemade dog food made with cooked chicken we never have had any problem.
