Out and about
There is so much to see here in Mexico. Next to India where we found that each time we turned around we saw something even more amazing than before, I have to say the Mexico has it all. Without even trying, here are some photos that just put themselves in front of my camera.
First time we have ever seen a pulmonia being towed.
Somehow I don’t think that the driver is going to be pleased when he finds that his muffler has been ripped off in the process.
I surmise this to be some sort of flower or fruit hanging down from this tree. It was at least three feet in length.
A walk down the path outside of the botanical gardens directly behind Tres Amigos RV Park.
A tuna boat coming back into port. From the birds I would say that they have a full catch.
New palmas being placed on the restaurant roof next door to the RV Park. These are a special small fan shaped palm that are brought in from another state. This type of roof lasts many many years as as opposed to the traditional palm fronds that we used on our palapa but they are quite expensive. Our roof should be good for 5 plus years depending on any passing hurricanes. Good enough for us.
If I had more space in my garden I would love to have a wall of this colorful vine. I have no idea what it is called.
A very large jelly fish, about twice the size a dinner plate floating along the edge of the shipping channel.
This one was a tad smaller, moving along the rocks. We had seen an extremely large one washed up on our beach last week but I did not have the camera with me. We very seldom have any jelly fish, even the very small ones on the beach here.
Red paper tree.
It really does look and feel like paper.
Another busy day at the port. The freighter and cruise ship are docked while the shrimper is heading out to open waters. The fishing boat is just coming into port.
As I mentioned, so much to see at every turn. Life is never boring here on the Isla and in Mazatlan.

I believe that your climbing vine is an Orange Honeysuckle vine. We have seen lots of them here in Spain as well and they are beautiful.

You are right George, lots to see everywhere, of course, one has to be looking.
All the things I love about Mexico, the vibrancy, colour, smell, sounds and sights. I love taking pictures of jelly fish, one of my very favorite things to take pictures of besides birds – they always pose well 🙂
Yes jelly fish do pose well but the second shot I took, it was moving. I was surprised at how fast it could move.
I was thinking it was of the Honeysuckle family as well. The white variety has the most wonderful scent.

Perfect…..that is exactly what it is. Now we are trying to figure out a place to plant it in our yard. There really isn’t anywhere that we can see but I have a few ideas for just outside of our site that I will be able to observe the blossoms.
We were told by a tour guide in Puerto Vallarta that the red paper tree is also referred to as a tourist tree, because it is red and peeling…

Love those little pupper butts going along the path.. that wall of flowers would be beautiful to have seen!!
It is a beautiful walk and even lovelier inside the gardens.
