Last night the humidity was 90% and the breeze was so cool that I was wearing fleece. It also rained overnight. Now, almost 24 hours later it is 35% humidity and 81F at 7:40PM. First time we have ever seen such a contrast over a 24 hour period.
Hard to believe this was the temperature at 6PM. This morning it was so cool that I had a sweater on inside. The photo above shows 10% humidity but we are on the ocean and have 35% which is the lowest I have ever seen.
We just noticed these trees yesterday. Suddenly in a sea of green there are bursts of gold. Stunning.
A colorful oriole working hard to get into the hummingbird feeder.
I was sitting outside in what felt like a blast furnace trying to cool down when this lovely sunset appeared.
We are so fortunate to be here on the Isla.
Just as the sun set the neighbors west of the RV park had a bonfire. They had invited some of the local Isla talent, an African band who also did some stunning fire dances.
Definitely all wonderful contrasts which made it a great day.

I found your two sunset photos exceptionally stunning. All your post give me pleasure to view but I realize I never tell you. Here I sit every morning, coffee in hand and anticipating what Contessa has for me today and if there is nothing from you I find myself rather disappointed but know that soon there will be something from you if not today tomorrow. Yet I realize I never tell you. Shame on me.
Thank you for taking the time to comment Catheline. I really appreciate knowing that my posts are of interest and there are people out there reading my blog.
THe band is Mexican not African. Most of the members live right here on Stone Island, they are my neighbours. If you ever want to hire them let me know,
I know that they live on the Isla but thought that they might have African routes as that is their theme in dress and music. Even their English teacher calls them Africans.
It is amazing how the weather can change so quickly, glad you are still enjoying it there.
Wonderful sunset photos.
Thank you George. Sadly the weather is cooling again. Most strange.
SNOW DAY AGAIN!
Oh no! I think I see Mexico in your future next winter.
Strange days indeed! We too experienced the same odd 24 hours. Out for my walk at 7am in the rain, closed the door against cold north wind at 9am and by 10am it was 84F! By the time Eric was doing the dishes at 7pm he had to turn on the A/C because it was so hot. We haven’t had the air on since Dec. Definitely a day of contrasts. Beautiful today.
I forgot to mention that we turned the air on about 6:30PM, truly strange.
Enjoy your extra weeks – love the fire dancers.
I have seen them so their twirling during the day but not at night with fire. We were lucky to have a front row seat.
Beautiful pictures – I love the yellow trees that have suddenly made an appearance – do you know the name of them? As always the sunset pictures are so very restful to the soul. Enjoy your extra weeks on the Isla.
I wish I knew the name of the trees. Sadly the color lasted just 48 hours.
That sunset was wonderful!!
Gracias!
