Life does like to challenge us

We crossed safely into the US this evening.  We were blessed with a quick pass at Benjamin Hill and at the border into the US.  First time ever we have not been asked even one question.

However once we activated our US/CAD cell we got info we did not want to hear.  Bottom line, we have spent the last four hours sorting out medical issues, air travel, hotel and transport for Colin to visit his Mom ASAP.

As you know we drove 512 miles yesterday and today we did another 453 miles.  We are both exhausted and I for one, am over the top emotionally.  I missed the girls so much today as we traveled and now I am missing Mommio and what is happening with her.  Colin’s Mom is rather private for him, so I won’t go into many more details.  Suffice to say that we will arrive in Las Vegas late in the day Wednesday and he will fly out very early morning Thursday.  We can only take it one day at a time.

So there is no long and interesting travel post for today other than being fortunate in passing all the difficult parts easily.  I do have a few thoughts to share but later in the week.

The internet tonight is very slow and I am saving my expensive internet for booking flights and communicating with Colin once he is gone, etc.  No I am not going to see Mommio with him.  I fear it would do me in.

Again thanks for your continued support.  I’m not sure that I could do it without you.

It is late, almost 10PM and we need to eat and most importantly to sleep.  How I miss the peace of the Isla.

Oh Contessa, you should not be alone at this time. Is there any friends or bloggers near Vegas that can be with you? If I was closer I’d be there in an instant. Anybody you trust to drive you home while Colin is with his mom?

    • Contessa says:

Thank you for your offer Sally but I will be staying in Las Vegas in the RV while Colin travels back to Canada.

On our western RV trip, we stayed at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort and enjoyed it very much. They had everything we needed there. Not sure if you made arrangements or not but just a suggestion. You are always on top of things, organized, and great at planning. Our grandson was in LV last week. He would of gladly checked in on you. Remembering and thinking of you both each and every day as you deal with all of this. Warm thoughts, lots of love and hugs and prayers sent your way!!!!!

Contessa give us a call when you are in Vegas – we can get together. To eat or to talk or to be quiet.

    Hoping…

Hoping you made it to Las Vegas without any problems, and found a good place to stay…
Hoping you and Colin are doing okay, and it’s getting easier without the girls…
Hoping Mommio holds on until Colin can get there and say goodbye, if indeed it is her time to exit.
Hoping you are going to be okay by yourself in the RV while he is gone…
Hoping you are finding some peace and solace….

Hoping you know you are loved…
