$$$$$
I started the day with my three day check in with the ESS people and got four day vouchers. Yeah, one more day free of not having to wait in line.
Followed by bloodletting for my annual physical coming up on Friday.
Next came some well deserved retail therapy. I was in the shop for three hours and tried on almost everything. Great place called Suzanne’s and I spent big bucks and feel wonderful. I brought home three full bags. At one point I wondered what Colin’s response would be re the $$$ but he loved the fashion show and my purchases. I dislike shopping but today everything just seemed to flow. It has been a very long time since I splurged, like over twenty years. Nice to have some new duds that aren’t so old 😀
So now the wine is flowing and I should be thinking about dinner…easy peasy, smoked salmon with creme cheese & sweet onion on croissants.

Retail therapy, the best cure! Looks the weather is cooperating, keeping our fingers crossed.
We are expecting lots of melting and rising waters. Usually by the end of June the lake rises 4 – 5 feet and it has already gone over 6 feet so we know there is more to come.
You will have to do a fashion show for us if you can get Colin to do the photography. Any chance I get to go to a fashion show by invitation in downtown Charleston, I attend because it is so much fun, especially seeing the new spring collections with all the beautiful colors. Lately, I’ve been doing some retail therapy myself with our upcoming trip to Cuba in June. Mostly, I’ve chosen some leisure outfits by Isaac Misraji and Bob Mackie which are adorable and very comfortable in their denim skorts with embroidered daisies and a light weight button up denin blouse trimmed in the same daisies; this shirt can also operate as a light unbuttoned shirt over a nice tee-shirt. The new style here in the Charleston area is the “cold shoulder” long-staple cotton tee-shirt which is long like a tunic with a rounded hem and is worn over leggings or skinny jeans. The cold shoulder is created just by removing a piece of the material from the top of the sleeve, leaving the sleeve still long enough on the underside to hide my “bat-wings” on my arms, great for women like me who have turned 70, but want a hint of sexy.
Well my clothes certainly don’t have any designer labels but they were made in Canada. I don’t have any idea what the style is here but just went things that fit well and were very comfortable.
Contessa, how nice that Suzanne’s carries “made in Canada” attire. It takes a lot of shopping here to find clothing “made in the United States.” Most clothing here is made in China, Indonesia, etc. By the way, the Mackie and Misraji designers, who created clothing for celebrities of the 1960s, are now making money by designing for the common folk and selling them personally at reasonable prices on a QVC program on television; that is where I purchased these leisure duds. The quality of their textiles for laundering is outstanding.
Nic to get some new clothes on occasion and feel great about it.
I still wear clothes that I bought over 20 years ago so it is a nice change.
Well, that’s a nice post!! Enjoy the new duds, and the vino.
Thanks Peter, now if only we could enjoy a day without rain and cold.
Sounds like a wonderful day!!
What RV park are you in? I was trying to think of one that is close to the SPCA, but then thought you might be closer to Vernon, not Kelowna. Pissing rain here all day today, Osoyoos lake is steadily climbing higher but nothing like where you guys are. We are thinking of you guys!
Janet
PS I also love the clothes at Suzanne’s!
Happy that you’re happy and had a great day!
It’s always fun shopping for new clothes. Glad you found something to take your mind off your troubles.
