Was it Sunday today?

Gosh I feel like I have been camping out at my desk.  It was a work day for both of us.   My morning walk did not go well as it was too hot to walk by the time I got going.  Here I am at 7:35PM and still have 3500 steps to walk not to mention make dinner.

Should I mention the new fire that started in Kelowna this afternoon ( human caused ) or the fellow that was finally captured who was seen walking the streets with a blow torch staring random fires earlier today.  I think not.  I’m tired of this fire business.

Let’s think of better things……

Like people riding on the beach on the Isla.

…or a tree with palms blowing in a gentle ocean breeze.

…or a guy and his dog out for paddle.

What fun.

Then there are the many vendors who walk the beach.  Hats, sunglasses or pastries, your choice.

This ice creme vendor is working very hard.

Maybe you would rather just dance in the sand with music provided by a wandering banda group.

…or catch a sunset. This one was taken Dec. 24/16.

There now I have forgotten about working all day and the fires.   There really is a paradise out there, you just have to find it 😎

Those pictures of Cody (the dog on the paddle board) made my night. I had such a great day with him when I was on Isla. Thanks for the memories!

We love the Isla but at the same time know that our return this year will be bittersweet. We have never been there without Carmeh & Caeli. It won’t be easy at first but we will adapt.

Your girls will always be with you in your hearts. You may “see” them from the corner of your eye as you pass one of their favourite spots. It’s just a gentle reminder that they’ve never really left.
Here’s hoping that we all make it through this summer of smoke & fire!

When you are ready you are most welcome to come visit either here in Kelowna or in Mexico.

Good Morning, you never know what might happen in the future but right now I am preparing to go to Vancouver Island to visit family, I hope the smoke isn’t as bad over there. Right now at my home,it’s terrible but at least it isn’t flames, so for that I am grateful.

You definitely had the right idea, reading your blog was much better than reading about the fires on Castanet! I didn’t even bother taking pictures of the helicopters dumping water on Knox Mountain, I think I figured if I ignored it maybe all things fire would go away.

    • contessa says:

Well it did go away eventually. Sadly the Knox Mountain Fire may prevent us from getting our home insurance renewed.

    Yes, just find it!!

  9. Soon you will be back in paradise, probably not soon enough after this summer season though
