Scan Design sent the leather repair guy out the other day. Turns out that we had hired him a few years ago to fix something on my desk chair. He has quite the process. Here he is heating the leather with a hair dryer.
Then there is an involved method of mixing his paint color. He then uses a huge compressor and sprays the leather. I didn’t watch the entire process as I was working but it did take time.
If you recall this was the damaged area on our sectional when it was delivered.
Perfect repair job.
While he was there Colin asked if he could repair two areas on the Jeep. He quoted a price and said he could do it in about two weeks but it had to be a day with no rain. Well you can’t guarantee that and we are leaving shortly. So I sweet talked him into doing it right now as it was sunny out ( he decided that he could be a little late for his next client ) and that I would pay him cash.
There were two scratches on the glove box, on the the right and a fainter one on the left . He actually semi melted the plastic material and used a template to press into the softened area to remove the scratches.
Like magic, no scratches.
A better photo showing the texture.
There was a tiny cut on the driver when we purchased it. Someone must have had something sharp in their pocket.
The end result. There is no longer a cut in the leather seat but you can see a faint mark.
A very good deal on the car repairs for $150.00, much cheaper than the what the dealer quoted us. He was here just over 90 minutes.
Colin off on his last job of the year yesterday. 🙂
Not looking forward to that -8C/17F on Friday night. Hopefully Mommio has cold weather clothes.

Great work. Good to see he was flexible to take your offer of cash and do your Jeep. I am sure he didn’t mind sliding his schedule a little. You have your leather repaired … now the computers. Are they happy again?
Wow, the leather guy does good work! I didn’t even know that it could be repaired. Nice to get that sorted before you go away.
An excellent repair job!
Love that weather! Wish we had some here, it would be nice to have a fire going in the fireplace. Still 32C.
