Nothing to do but lay around

Yesterday was another dud of a day.  I had hoped to get out for a beach walk but had little energy and was mcuh too weak.  Plus there were only gray skies, too bad as there was a cruise ship in port.  I felt bad for those visiting Mazatlan for the first time.  It was also only 73F outside so I stayed inside under a blanket while sprawled out on the sofa reading.  Not to mention using up half a box of tissues as I kept sneezing repeatedly.  I finally gave in and started taking Tylenol Cold and Sinus tablets.  I had no sinus issues but had a headache and just could not stop sneezing.

Sadly we had to cancel having some friends over for drinks, snacks and a few games of Mexican Train.  There was no way I could stay focused.

So glad that I poked my head outside at sunset.

How could such a gray and colorless day produce such a work of art?

So how do you all cure the common cold?  What do you think is the quickest way to get rid of it?  Do your colds last just a few days or over a week?  Mine are usually quick and Colin take a week or longer.  We are really hoping that he doesn’t catch this one.  We have plans to bring in the New Year.

Good luck with your cold, If and when I get one usually a day or so , but has been so many years they are only a distant memory. Fresh air, exercise, good food, lotsa wine or beer and stay away from indoor social events and crowded public place seems to work well for us.

That might be why you never get a cold are you are both independent and stay away from large groups. I think think this is my first in about 18 months.

Sinus rinse at first signs of a cold ( AM & PM) by Neil Med. U can buy it at K-mart. Wally-world, CVS, walgreens, etc.

    It truly works for me.

    Good luck, feel better. Lucy.

Stir up some honey, turmeric powder, ground ginger, coconut oil, and a squeeze of lemon. Take a tablespoon every few hours.

I use a neti pot to flush my sinuses at the first sign of a cold.

    Good luck to you!

That honey mixture sounds very interesting. I do have a neti pot but as my sinuses were not affected I didn’t use it. Guess I should have.

Six shots of Tequila should do the trick!

My mother use to say…”A treated cold lasts a week…..an untreated cold lasts 7 days” Drink lots (your choice)

  6. Ack, being sick sucks. Hubby is has been having the crud lurk about for a few days, we are desparately trying to keep him somewhat healthy before his business trip on Monday. I am certain after flying to Toronto and back he will come back sick, flying always seem to does it. Happy New Year, hopefully you wil be better by then!
