Critter in the RV
Over the years we had had cats under our bed ( no way anything can get in now ), mice inside the RV, a dead rat in the water compartment ( talk about a horrific odor ), something running up and down between the bedroom wall panels ( it finally died ), a few dead mice hidden behind cabinets but scouted out by the girls ( they were great critter hunters ), an iguana living in the spare tire rim on the roof and now suddenly a new sound. Some sort of flapping over and over. Colin checked the roof where we thought it was coming from. We looked everywhere and Colin would run outside once the sound started. It was mostly in the morning. Sometimes it sounded like the roof vent lid slapping up and down quickly but that was not it either. We tried everything we could to figure it out. This had all started once we got back from our road trip. So what happened while we were away?
So some bird had fallen in love with itself and was tapping away at it’s reflection. We tried to simulate a bird tap with our finger and it was very close to the sounds we have been hearing.
No more critter noise 😀

Goodness, those birdies do fall in love with their reflections – thanks for the chuckle. Good problem solvers the two of you together.
Anything to make you smile. And thanks for the compliment.
At least you found the noise an no critter invasion.
It still took us two weeks to figure out the problem and we are glad that we did.
When we lived on the Island we had birds do that to our basement windows that were very shaded behind a fence and trees. I finally ended up taping a picture of a cat on the outside and it seemed to work.
Isn’t nature interesting?
Nature is amazing in so many ways.
I can understand it. I have been known to develop a fondness for my reflection as well. LOL
Cute Croft!!
While parked at my son’s house, an annoying Cardinal would fight with his reflection in my side mirror and poop all over the side of the car. I learned to carry plastic bags and place them over the mirrors when I visit him.
Great solution. What a mess for your car.
Our neighbors have a cockatiel and he sits in front of their shiny toaster for hours preening himself. At least it was an easy fix when you figured it out.
One of the easiest fixes we have had 🙂
Well, that was a great morning smiley story. Thanks.
De nada.
Bird whisperer? 🙂 Wish we were there.
You can wish but only you can make it happen.
Oh, now that is really funny!!! There is just no way if knowing how animals will react to things…
