A mixed bag and Pendleton Pass
Another long day. We drove 428 miles today and are only four hours away from our front door. I love living in our RV and I love our home also. No one place is better than the other. We even have the same mattress in both except the one in the house is a king rather than a queen. I took too many photos today, over 100 so you will just have to bear with me.
The alarm even though set properly did not go off so we did not get up till 6:30AM but were still driving by 7:15AM. We got a new neighbor to the right of us last evening. Had a great sleep last night surrounded by quiet RV’s. Have I mentioned that the wifi is free and very fast.
Looks like it was from the 50’s. Such small windows.
We saw a variety of scenery today.
Of course we just had to have some snow along the way. The fellow in the old Prevost on the left of us in the top photo said that they came up through Salt Lake City and it was snowing very hard.
Pendleton Pass is quite a big to do.
We are going downhill to the bottom of that valley.
As we travel down others are slowly working their way up the pass.
We have never seen it so clear before, usually we have rain or snow. That is the road we are heading to, down on the left.

See that white dot above Colin’s left arm, that is a semi heading down the pass. We are on our way.
If you look up you can see that that is where we started our descent.
Why would a Prevost need 5 air conditioning units??
Dam on the Columbia River as well as a few tiny dots of fishermen.
Moses Lake, Soap Lake, Lenore Lake, Blue Lake, Sun Lakes and many more.
A very beautiful part of Washington State.
We are now in the Okanogan area of Washington, where the apples come from. In Canada we live in the Okanagan region, slightly different spelling.
We certainly saw a lot of cows the last few days including many new calves. Have never seen so many white ones in the same place.
Finally stopped for the night in Omak, Washington, in a Walmart. This is only our third Walmart in 160 days. Nice stop as we can stock up on groceries which will keep us going for the next week as we get settled at home. I am using free wifi from the building with the red roof across the road. It is cool but not a biting cold.
It is 7:45PM as I write this and we are having rain showers. That is also the forecast for tomorrow which is great for cleaning the salt water off the underside of the RV but not so fun for unloading. We have been fortunate over the years in that we have mostly arrived home to no precipitation so I can’t complain. Planning on having a great pasta dinner tonight and lots of vino. Still a few bottles over the limit 😳

The bus with 5 roof airs pulling a trailer is most likely an entertainer coach. It probably has 12 bunks on board.

FUEL PRICES ARE ALWAYS HIGHER WHEN THEY SWITCH FROM WINTER TO SUMMER BLEND AS WELL AND THEN VISA VERSA.
GLAD YOU WILL BE HOME SOON AS YOU HAVE SO MUCH TO DO IN SO SHORT A TIME. YOU MUST BE GETTING EXCITED.

So glad you’ve made it “almost home” safely.
It’s still rather cool here in the mornings and evenings….not complaining by any means.
Security is tight for the Presidente and we’re on lockdown today. The Plaza is closed and all businesses in the secure zone…I heard may be that way tomorrow too. We’ve got steak and shrimps on the grill so we’re good to go.

Glad to here that all has gone well. We’re in Alamo, Nevada for two nights and then moving north. Looks like it will start to warm up north of here later in the week. By the time you read this you’ll be unpacking your RV! That was a speedy trip home.
