One of Colin’s recent projects
So an architect hires Colin to take a photo of his building design.
However this final image required two hours of expertise in photoshop. Note that in addition to adjusting the building perspective, Colin had to create new pavement, the traffic road lines, remove construction signage and generally tidy the shot including drop in a new garbage can, add shadows and highlights, etc. This is a very small example of what he does. Some images can take up to one to two full days just for the single final image which results in an image 30 feet long.
Just another day in the life of Colin.

WOW. THAT’S A LOT OF WORK TO “CLEAN IT UP”. THAT’S WHY YOU ARE THE PRO, COLIN.
Yes, it often takes hours and hours.
I have played around with Photoshop just enough to appreciate the amount of work this requires! Nice job Colin!
Photoshop is a constant learning curve.
It is amazing what a good camera and good photoshop program can do, Good work Colin.
The photoshop program doesn’t due the job on its own. It takes a lot of experience to use it and Colin is constantly learning new aspects of photoshop.
I never realized what kind of work came with a nice picture, thinking it was just the kind of camera and talent to capture the right angle.
Super job!
First the hours to take the photo and then many more hours to do the digital work. In the ‘olden days’ it was all about getting is right the first time. But now clients expect everything to be perfected. Once we had an interior designer who wanted all the light switches and electrical plus removed. That is not reality to me.
Another Photo Job well done. Brings back memories when I spent days doing that on Portfolio Pictures.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Two hours is a long time to work on this. Colin used layers as one of his special techniques.
Amazing work Colin! Have you ever been to the top of the Technology Building? There is a restaurant up there, although I don’t think it is great, but you can also go up and walk around the gardens and admire the view without visiting the restaurant.
I’m working on a photo of Kasugai Gardens, trying to remove the new parkade from the background, and I know the final result will not be anywhere near the work that Colin does … so much talent he has 🙂
Good for you on working with photoshop. I would never even try and attempt it. Not sure what building you are referring to. Please let me know. Colin did photography of the Innovation Building??
He does fantastic work, likely why he keeps getting called over and over again (whether he wants to work less or not lol)
🙂
