The return to the Isla and the rest of the day

Once we left the generator shop we both let out a sigh of relief.  We had a working generator, more or less.

We saw this fellow selling these great pots roadside and I really wanted to stop but we were both drained and had no energy to make proper decisions so we carried on.

Approaching the Isla and our turn to the left.

What we could not deal with in the early morning Saturday.

But someone had done work while we were away.  Actually Laura & Alan as well as Chris and Juan had walked down after lunch to check that we would be able to get back.  Alan emailed us a photo.  The expression  ” a photo is worth a thousand words ” is so very true.  It was a great relief to us and we knew that we would be able to get back to the RV Park.  A huge change from what we had to deal with leaving the Isla earlier in the day.  This is my photo as we arrived at the crucial turn.

The foursome, Juan, Chris, Laura and Alan were waiting for us, to help guide us back home.  It did help that we had tracks to follow.  We have only one inch variance to get back into place because of the palapa and the distance to our neighbors.  Always a tricky parking job.

The sunset last Saturday, complete with my new dust spots. Not my fault but a result of trying to remove them.

RV 1 was hosting a weenie roast for us as well as RV2.  Doesn’t Tris look comfy not to mention happy?

Chris and Juan, really??  That is me in the green jacket on the right.  It was getting rather cool as the sun set.

A great fire.  That is our friend Alan in the plaid shirt.

Quite the crowd.

Everyone really had a great time.

A very hot fire.  By this point we had relaxed enough from the generator day to just enjoy the ambiance.  That is me on in the left bending down to cook our veggie dogs.  By the way, it took two days to de smoke our clothes post weenie roast.

Thank you Darwin and Audrey for organizing this lovely evening.

Most folks left early but some of us stayed and a few campfire songs were sung.  A great way to end the ‘return of the generator’.

WOW, THAT LOOKS LIKE A TOASTY FIRE. GLAD YOU MADE IT BACK EASIER THAN YOUR DEPARTURE.

Just l-o-v-e weenie roasts on the beach; one of my great memories growing up; if a date asked me what I wanted to do in fall weather, I would say let’s go to a weenie roast on the beach; weenie smell with a date is romantic and he’s thinking what a cheap date!!

Juan seems to be enjoying mightily his hot dogs (and he never seems to gain weight)!! How does he do it?!!

Glad you made it back! Love a fire..hate the smoke. When we were clearing and burning at home we both got our fill of campfire smoke but hot dogs and marshmallows make it worth it!

Glad you made it back. Wonderful friends to come to your aid and try to ease your mind.
What a wonderful looking weenie roast. Fantastic fire, I bet the heat was something else. Glad you’re back in your spot, safe and sound with the repairs complete.

  5. The pictures are worth a thousand words. Everyone had a great time! We are very surprised at the quality of the beach this year. Very clean. As you and others have said, ex-pats who walk the beach in the morning take a bag and pick up trash. On our walks, we saw literally nothing in terms of litter.

  6. So glad you got the generator sorted. I would have wanted to stop for the pots too – I seem to be collecting Mexican pottery and pots through our facebook bidding site instead. The weiner roast looks fun, always smelly though
