March calendar girl

Cloii was our first dachshund.   We had been married for ten years when we decided, well actually Colin wanted to, get a dog.  He had had doxies as a child.  One day way back then we had been out for a longish walk in Tsawwassen, BC when we walked through a park where a group were having their annual dachshund picnic.  Hundreds of doxies and their owners and none of them were barking.  All sizes, all colors and a mix of short haired, long haired and wire haired.  Then we saw the puppies for sale.  I was hooked.  The rest is history as they say.

Because of Cloii and her soon to be sister we purchased our first RV.  It was our first time camping together.  We stopped traveling the world by plane as we wanted to stay with our girls and RVing within North America was the only way to do it.  Cloii managed to travel as far as Playa las Glorias, Guasave, Sinaloa.  Sadly she met a very tragic end to her life at only five years of age.

The next three photos were taken from the internet.  A beautiful beach.

Playa las Glorias had the most wonderful sunsets.

Thanks to our girls we are still living this wonderful life of travel.

Our first dog was a beagle. She was a fantastic dog but when she was gone at 15, Todd said he wanted a wiener dog without a wiener and we found Scooter in South Dakota. As you know, one doxie is not enough so two years later we added Skitz. They are the reason we do not take cruises or go anywhere our RV can’t go. Cloii was beautiful. How could you not be hooked.

Thanks Contessa for the lovely blog post. I really enjoyed learning about Cloii. This is the very interesting thing about blogs. Feeling like we know all bout our “blog friends” even though we have never met them. Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you for telling us about Cloii. What beautiful photos of her. No doubt, she had her own unique personality. Maybe one day you will tell us about her personality and her favorite things she liked to do. You could most likely write pages and pages about each one of the three.
