Monday evening we had an unexpected visitor. King David, a successful business man here in Mazatlan and one of the owners of this RV park dropped by to ask Colin a favor. He is doing a new brochure and wants photos. Umm we are leaving in a week. No he said, just stay longer at no charge. Sorry but we can’t as we have obligations elsewhere. Colin could not say no and here he is first thing Tuesday morning heading off to work. He had no idea what the day would involve.
He was everywhere, doing a few days work in one day. He came home for 40 minutes to have lunch and was picked up in an ATV and off he went. Once he has some photos ready I will share them with you. I meanwhile was preparing for our trip North. I have to order some items from Amazon, etc. We only have one more shopping day in Mazatlan and I did not want to forget anything. And of course I was still dealing with a few computer issues.
As the day drew to a close the weather became cloudy and cool.
A few folks had organized a farewell happy hour complete with appies and a chili dinner as a send-off for all of us. The wind continued thru the happy hour and we wondered if we would be rained out. Of course we had our palapa to fall back on if needed. Don’t you love my new glass.
Mother Nature decided to give us a spectacular farewell.
There were three chilis to enjoy as well as salads and garlic bread. We all contributed. This was taken with my iPhone.
And this one with my camera.
The changing colors of the sky were our entertainment. All the sunset shots were taken with my iPhone.
Someone, I believe it was Audrey, said that this was the best sunset since Christmas.
It did not want to end. How fortunate we all are to be here on the Isla, to enjoy each others company and to be so close to the beauty of nature.
The evening ended with a bonfire.
We did not attend. I was extremely tired. In fact we were both in bed by 9:30PM and I slept until 7:30this morning. I really needed that rest.

Wrapping up your last few day there and a nice farewell party as well.
you need to sleep sometime.
It was fun to have the one adios party for all of us. Usually we are one of the last to leave but not this year. You have to remember that we left home Sept. 28th to tour the US.
You definitely need some down time – it seems this has been the year of party after party. Perhaps you guys can negotiate free pad rental next year for Colin’s services? Obviously his reputation for his photography is wide reaching beyond his normal Canadian clientele
Yes it has been beyond busy but maybe we needed to get out of our comfort zone. Umm the owner offers us a free lunch, he is Mexican after all!! A week will be sufficient if I can get that in place.
That sunset was a fitting ending to a wonderful stay down there in Mexico. Not only are Colin’s talents in photography are far reaching, I am sure that because of you guys the RV park was promoted nicely and they had many more clients thanks to you.
Such a spectacular sunset. Because of my blog and our photos many people, both RVers and others, have come to Mazatlan. My past blog posts are filled with the photos I have taken of them. My friend Ann who is from Saskatchewan came to the Isla two years ago, solely because of my blog. She is an older lady and just showed up and has thrived. Laura and Alan who just left in their RV are here because of my blog. Several folks here on the Isla both RVers and others, have come because of my blog. I love sharing this part of Mexico and meeting all of my blog readers.
Another busy day as you are winding things down.
Congratulations to Colin’s far reaching reputation as a Photographer.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
The owner of Tres Amigos RV Park has used Colin a few times in the past. I even was on video once talking about the Isla.
Not surprising given Colin is a ‘professional’ par excellence! We will all ‘travel’ with you on your next adventure.
You better fasten your seat belt. Once we leave mid May it will be non stop for six weeks.
