Que pasa

Monday morning we had a drizzle which resulted in a real mess.

Before I knew it Colin was out there powerwashing.  He washed both cars, the golf cart and then started in on our sidewalks and shed, etc.

Next he was doing our driveway. It has to be cold for Colin to be wearing a sweater.  Of course he continues to wear shorts.

Lovely sunset Monday.

Tuesday we awoke to some major concrete pouring happening around the outdoor pool.  They are pouring new sidewalks around the area.

The hills to the North are beautiful at this time of year. As the summer progresses they become dried out pieces of grass with no colour.

Love the zoom of my new camera.  You might just make out the tiny yellow spots all along the hillside.  Soon those hills will be full of yellow flowers, the Arrowleaf Balsamroot.

Which is Kelowna’s official flower. It’s indigenous to the Southern Interior of British Columbia and covers the hillsides of the Okanagan Valley every spring.

This is a link as to how the First Nations used this plant for a variety of purposes, including food and medicine.

This is the only piece of exercise equipment I own.  It is great for moving lymph though your system and for getting your blood moving as well as your metabolism.  I have had it for years. It was very helpful for all those years that I could not walk before I got my hips replaced.  As the weather has been miserable & wet and I was tied to my desk, I have been using it for at least a ten minute session daily and even twice per day a few times.  Sadly as I always tend to do, I over did it and now I have a sore knee because of it. I can control the speed from 1 to 17 and for the last few days I only went from 10 to 16 and of course that was too much.  The Ibuprofen is kicking in and in a few days I should be back to normal and getting outside to walk again now that the weather is better.

We left the house at 4:45AM today as I dropped Colin off at the airport. His flight to Winnipeg left at 6:10AM and he was off to see Mommio.

I sat and watched as he went back and forth through three rows to get to the security lineup. There are many flights that leave from here early in the morning.

I got back home in time to watch the sunrise reflecting on the snow up in the mountains.  Unlike Colin who napped on the flight I am still wide awake.  Hopefully not for long.

The “Okanagan Sunflowers” are blooming on the hills above us. Love your poster at the end of your blog 🙂

Nice that Colin got everything cleaned up outside and is going to visit Mommio.
We have an exercise machine similar you yours here at the fitness centre at Rock Glen and I really love it. I do that first before I start my work out.

He is so happy to be with his Mom. I love that machine as well but I stupidly went from 0 to 100 and sadly am paying for it.

Goodness, Colin is like the “pink bunny”. So full of energy the rest of have to sit down to rest after reading about all he accomplishes in a day. I hope the visit with his mother is wonderful and looking forward to his photos of their time together.
Hope you are feeling better, too.

Saw lots of balsam root on our way through northern Washington and into Kelowna. Got a couple of pictures up close and was surprised that they have a very strong scent. Colin is definitely a worker extraordinaire! Glad he’s getting to see his very special Mommio.
Got the 10 food items you asked for and will be in touch.

That poster gave me such a chuckle I had to share it with my Dave. Thanks for the laugh.
