It is great to be home
You might recall that we left home last September 27th/2018 and toured the USA and finally arrived in Mexico on November 15th, 2018. We enjoyed our winter on the Isla and arrived back here in Kelowna on April 1st, 2019. However we were only home for six weeks. We left May 14th, 2019 for our six week European adventure. Thanks to Dr. Google this means that from September 27/18 to June 22/19 was a period of 8.81 months ( 38.28 weeks ) and we were only home for 1.41 months or 6.1 weeks of those 8.8 months. We certainly have done a great deal of traveling from September 27/ 2018 to June 22/2019. In a nutshell, we have been home approximately 6 weeks in the last 9 months. It is time to settle down and enjoy our home until we head out again around the third week of October, back to Mexico. And after that, who knows? I am not ready to start planning the next trip.
My car has been in storage since September 22, 2018 and just yesterday, we took off the storage insurance and it is now good to drive for the next four months. Seriously I am concerned about driving after all this time. I will take it ever so slowly.

We took it into Kelowna earlier this afternoon to give it a good run and to purchase some groceries. Our fridge is now full and we are now able to relax and lay back until after the long weekend. Colin is back to normal but I am still jet lagged. Hopefully one more day and I will be back to myself. I have procrastinated and still need to do all the laundry from the trip. Tomorrow is the big day.
One thing that I am looking forward to, is sitting in my recliner with a glass of wine and reading about our last six weeks starting here. So much happened that I need to relive it through the blog. It truly was a wonderful adventure.

Enjoy your time back home, getting caught up before you head out once again.
At this point we aren’t going anywhere until the end of October when head south again.
Loved reading all about your trip but happy to hear of your safe arrival home, sorry about the suitcase delay.
The good news is that we eventually got both bags back. Thank you for following along and taking the time to comment every now and then and to send emails.
Always great to be home after a trip and taking time to reflect on your trip is good, too. Your blog is a wonderful history of your journeys and gives such a good time line for the where, the when and the what you did on each trip. I wish I were more disciplined in keeping better travel logs. Enjoy your summer.

I am always a little wary when I first get in the truck to somewhere on my own after we return from our winter travels, I know how you feel 🙂 It will be fun to sit back and read about your travels, I know we really enjoyed the read.
