Update on our goose situation

You may recall that before we left for Europe, we purchased Charlie the Coyote to stop the geese from coming up onto our lawn to dine and poop on the patio.  You can read about that here.  We came home to no goose poop whatsoever.  Charlie truly did his job. He was worth the money we spent.

Charlie the Coyote.

The other morning we were treated to a parade of geese.  Here we have Dad & Mom along with eight little ones.

Directly behind them came a slightly older family consisting of Mom and five goslings.

How fun to watch this gaggle pass by.

Then just around the corner behind them came yet another Mom and her seven goslings.  It was a parade.

Several of these photos were taken from inside through the windows.  I was curious as to where these geese were traveling to in such precision like formation.

Turns out that they were joining several other goose families about to head up to the lucious green grass in front of the condos.  I bet those folks wished they had a Charlie Coyote.

Colin decided to put Charlie away as we had a clean patio.  With 24 hours we has three droppings of you know what.  Charlie is back on duty.  We had told the landscape guy about Charlie.  We saw him yesterday and said that a few times while we were away he jumped when he saw Charlie.  He is that life like.

Nice that Charlie is earning his keep. those geese sure make a mess.

We used Goggle to find him. There are only a few her in the stores but oh my, he is worth every penny.

GLAD CHARLIE WORKED SO WELL FOR YOU. DO YOU THINK SOMETHING SIMILAR WOULD HELP DETER MY BIRDS ROOSTING AT THE FRONT DOOR? I’VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING. EVEN HUMANS GOING IN AND OUT THE DOOR, THE BIRDS STAY PUT. YOU SAW THAT. I MAY HAVE TO PUT SMALL WOOD WITH TINY NAILS THERE BUT REALLY DON’T WANT THE BIRDS HURT. THE OWL IS USELESS IN THE FRONT, BUT WORKS SO WELL IN THE REAR PATIO. GLAD YOUR PROBLEM IS SOLVED.

I really am not sure what to say. Perhaps my readers will have some ideas. I think that simply tacking up some chicken wire, will keep them away from the area. Let me know if you want us to bring some down.

Good job Charlie! I wonder if he works on deer?

Good question. Are deer scared of coyotes? Somehow, I believe that Norma’s deer will remain a part of her legacy.

  6. Looks like Charlie has a Fulltime Job as long as you stay at the lake.
That would have been a sight when he scared the gardener.
Be Safe and Enjoy your clean patio.

    It’s about time.

Rick, we are here on the lake until they take us out of here in a box. This is our final forever spot. After that our ashes will be put into the lake.

I think you should leave Charlie on the job 🙂 Fortunately the geese here stay down by the lake but they do make a mess of the beach, which of course the staff have to clean up.

We moved Charlie today to a different area, closer to the lawn. I realized that our patio furniture might be blocking him from the geese as they approach our patio.
