I’m still here

Life has taken over my life 🙄  Once our company left I took a few days off.  We then had a few serious and time consuming matters  to deal with which I for the most part completed today. I will also admit that I am having a health issue that I am not ready to share yet.  It is similar to what happened to me before we left for Europe in May, the same thing that almost made us cancel our trip. There are not enough hours in the day to do my normal day to day activities never mind find time to read a book, go for a walk or write a blog post.  It seems that the more I do the more I am behind.  We are scheduled to leave for Mexico in just over five weeks.  Not ready at all.  I can’t even face looking at my to do lists.  I am not sleeping well at night in part due to my medical problem and I have very little vitality to get through a day.  The minimum is getting done.  I have been wondering how I managed to get it all done when we had the girls who needed a good deal of attention not to mention several daily walks plus run a busy business.  I do not like having no energy.

I believe that this is the longest I have gone without writing a blog post.  It’s not that I don’t have stories and several photos to write about, it is simply a matter if time.  However dropping the blog has not helped with my situation. Everything takes longer to do.  I think I am just going to take it day by day for the next few weeks and see if I perk up and can get back to normal.  I do not want this to be my new normal, not acceptable.  All the rain we have been having has not helped.  It has been cool and gloomy.

This not a normal September for us. Today we weren’t able to even see the mountains. The clouds were so low that we didn’t even see the hillsides around the lake. Just the water and the clouds.  I have been told that this is normal here during the winter months.

A few days ago we were treated to a rainbow, actually a double rainbow.  You can see the second over top the brighter one.

I spent a lovely few hours last Friday enjoying tea & conversation with Ferne, a friend from the lower mainland who comes to the Isla in the winter in her RV.

We haven’t had to water our garden for over a week now.  The flowers in my patio pots are looking ragged, I think that they are drowning. Colin has clients in the wings waiting for sunshine for their photography.  Life goes on.  We have a mini trip by air planned in a few days.  Fortunately I will be able to go, drugs are a wonderful thing even though I prefer not to use them, but they will get me there and back. Perhaps a change of scenery will pick me up but sadly it won’t fix what’s broke.  That remains a bit of a mystery as to the cause.  The good news is that all the medical tests are perfect but still 😯  Hopefully soon the cause and solution will be discovered. Meanwhile special hugs to those of you who reached out to check on Colin and I.

So my plan is to post when I can.  That means if you aren’t signed up to receive any new posts via email that you will have to keep checking back.  If you want to receive new posts in your inbox simply go to my post and click onto the “Subscribe by Email” under Home Page on the the top right corner of any post.  That will take you to a page to fill in your email address and to click that you are not a robot.  Pretty simple.  Talk to you all soon.

Thank goodness you two are fine, I was beginning to be a worrywart. I always look forward to hearing what is happening in your life, it is so full and adventurous. If you need time off, take it, being ill is no fun, I can vouch for that.
Just so happy to hear from you, slow down, get better so we can all play along with you.

    Thinking of you,
    Catheline

So hope u feel better soon. No, rain n gloom do not help. We had a couple glorious days n were able to go for a drive, get rocks n finish a border on my front flower bed, so satisfying to get that done prior to freezing bad weather. Take care, have fun on mini trip! Get well soon.

You have so many happy years ahead of you, these problems are just a temporary setback. In the past, you have routinely done all the things necessary to get ready for your trip south. Sometimes you have to accept changes from your old routine. Get some help! When Dad came to live with us and I still had my job of 30 years and my child left for college, my life turned upside down, was exhausted all the time. My doctor put me on a protein drink every morning to boost my energy (just can’t eat a lot of meat) and I hired someone 3 days a week to come in to clean house, wash everyone’s clothes, take Dad to the doctor and physical therapist and to pick up his meds. I took two-hour lunches, using one of those hours to participate in a ladies’ gym. You know in your heart that something must change (even if it costs you extra money). Bringing Maria into my home to help out was the best change I ever made. You are a big planner and can plan your way out of this. Lots of hugs and know that the old Contessa will be back in action soon, but with a NEW plan.
