Not the best of days

More problems… can’t deal with it tonight.  To bout, some of the wine we purchased to taste today,  is mostly garbage and will be thrown out. That bad.  Not worth drinking past a few sips.  None of the weather channels I was watching mentioned wind. Huge winds.  Colin had at least a dozen heavy duty rubber straps on the tripod.  The wind blew the tripod right out of the ground  We have lost our LNB and arm  🙁

Enough for tonight 😐

Opps about you dish, I know in Quartzite Satellite advantage has Shaw dishes and parts, we got our large dish there a few years ago with L and B and arm and dish great service there. We secure ours to the ground with 2- 8-12 niche metal tent pegs through two holes on each leg has never blown over since then even in very high winds.

I called today and they sold their last LNB yesterday!!! Plus they had no arms. They now have a two week wait for more parts. Thank you so much for the info. We will get tent pegs. What we use is very good but not for this RV park.

Have you ever thought to have you dish mounted on the roof of the motorhome, we have had ours done and it is fabulous, no more worries about it blowing over and getting broken, we went through that in the early years with our Shaw dish. Have a great winter on the Ilsa!!!!

The dish on the roof would be even more of an issue with palms trees and such. The soil here at this RV park is not stable. In over 20 years this is our first issue.

    That’s too much stress Contessa.
The #1 thing I will not miss this winter. Breakdowns and mishaps.
I hope you are somehow able to have a good outcome of all this.

Oh how I felt for you with all of your RV problems over the past few years. Guess this it our turn. Somehow we will get it all together, we have to.

  5. Well that just sucks. I hope things start looking up soon. Hugs

We are on our last day of Colorado springs and soon the harsh cold will be a distant memory, I hope. Good luck to you.

OUR WIND GUSTS WERE 48 MPH YESTERDAY. VEGAS IS AT THE TOP OF THE COLORADO RIVER PART WHERE THE WINDS JUST TEAR DOWN. UNFORTUNATELY THESE WINDS PUSH AND BECOME THE SANTA ANAS AND WHY THE CA FIRE SITUATION IS SO BAD. I’M NOT CERTAIN WHAT WEATHER YOU ARE WATCHING, BUT THE WINDS WILL BE BAD UNTIL AT LEAST THURSDAY/FRIDAY.WE HAVE A FIRE ALERT AND ARE ALL RED ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER RIGHT DOWN TO YUMA. HERE’S A GOOD GAUGE OF THE WINDS.

Oh my gosh!!! So sorry u guys r having such awful travel weather! Take Care!

  9. Lucy says:

Hi Contessa: Beware, part of Nevada, Southern California & baja California are experiencing the strongest Santa Ana winds since the 1990’s. There are humungous brush fires in California ALL OVER, it’s pretty scary. U may want to check Southern California news on: abc7. com Hope you two amigos have a better day from now on…happy travels & watch out for the winds, they are supposed to diminish Thursday the 31; for now several heavy trucks & other vehicles have been brought down on some FWY’s by the strong wind gusts. My regards, safe and feliz viaje. Lucy.
