That night and the next day

The night of the monsoon as we like to call it was vey humid, even with the air conditioning on.

Yes this is with the A/C on.

I have been sleeping on the sofa in order to get more air around me because of my cold. I woke up to one of my throat lozenges melting.  The one on the left is a new one just for comparison.  Remember the A/C was on.

Once the water receded Thursday morning, Colin had to power wash all the gunk off the patio.  We slowly put everything back in place.

Despite still not feeling 100% I felt the need for a margarita and we attended the weekly Thursday  Kannon event at El Velero.  I promised Colin that I was just going to enjoy the music and not dance to get my chest riled up.

While on my second margarita my body somehow started to dance all on its own.

Pierre is my willing partner.

I did feel better that night and slept very well for the first time in a week. Was it just getting out, the margaritas or the dancing, I will never know but I am feeling better.

The paint on patio looks like it wil be OK and goodness Colin does have a bit of sunburn. Glad you are feeling better and hope Mazatlan has been given a break in the weather. It was 23F when I got up this morning and that is cold for November. Here is to feeling better.

Yes his shoulders are a tad red but not painful nor sore. We are having a three day break form the humidity but have rain in the near forecast. I believe that temps are different everywhere this year. This is our new normal.

Well I would say well deserved margaritas and dancing was what you needed after this trip down south!

It looks like the paint on the patio survived all that rain! Wow it must be hot if your lozenge melted like that with the AC on. I read that line about you not going to dance and thought that will never happen … and sure enough I was right ? So glad you are feeling better.

You always make me smile if not laugh out loud. I think that Colin thought the same thing, like will I really not be dancing. FYI, I am finally getting caught up on reading your blog.

Contessa, something that works for me and many others…when I first begin to feel a stuffy nose & A scratchy through I use Sinus Rinse in AM & PM, and good enough often times the cold symptoms are minimized or go away all together. Glad you danced you cold away; my regards: Lucy.

    • contessa says:

I have never heard of Sinus Rinse. I will look that up right away. I rarely get a cold but I am convinced that this is travel related. Plus we went from being so hot to using A/C that I fell that must have added to my body breakdown.

Hi Contessa: Sinus Rinse by Neil Med. has been around for @while, it’s based on the Yogis practice of rinsing off their nasal passages & peri-nasal sinuses. It was prescribed to me by my M.D.( allergist); it not only helps with colds, but it also prevents them as well by decreasing the microorganisms that cling to your nasal passages. It’s an over the counter kit, brings a bottle & packages with salt/sodium bicarb. mixture. The beauty of it is, if U do it once a day, chances are U will seldom get a cold ( for the most ). My regards. Lucy

Glad you’re feeling better. Yesterday was the first day that our A/C’s didnt need to run and doors and windows were open. Our dehumidifier took gallons of water out of the air over the last 2 1/2 weeks. Nice now! Looks like the patio paint survived.

    • contessa says:

Thank you Kathy. Yes we slept the last two night with no AC but did have a small fan running long with the fantastic fans. A dehumidifier sounds like a great thing to have.

  6. Glad to see you having fun even if you aren’t feeling 100%. Did the rain wreck the new paint job?

    • contessa says:

Fortunately only one section has been affected. Sadly it is in full view but the bubbles are small enough that as they pop they might not be noticed. So only if everything starts to peel will be have to repaint this year. However we do have rain in the forecast for 3 days next week. Not our normal weather.

Looks like things are settling now! Tequila and dancing are always a good thing.
It looks like your lozenge WAs disintegrating from the high humidity…that happened with my vitamins last time we were in Mexico. We use those little silica packs now, hopefully they will help when we are in Mazatlán.

    • contessa says:

You will have to tell me about the silica packs. My vitamins are okay in their bottles but when I pull them out for the day the gel ones go mushy. See you soon.

So good to see you’re starting to have some fun,it’s all really worth it,in the big scheme of things.

  9. Linda Sand says:

It’s the dancing. Getting everything moving again. 🙂

  10. Good for you to let it all out. I’m sure the dancing helped but of course the Margaritas had something to do with it too! After all that stress you had lately its good to let loose. Have fun.

    • contessa says:

My body decide that it just had to dance, all on its own but as you say the margaritas might have been involved. It has helped me get over the hump. Almost there.

That Colin is a work horse after the long drive and then painting the patio! Hope he got some time to relax and dance also! Adult beverages make everything better! Love the sunset pictures-you must be feeling better.

He is getting his guitar time in each day and that is the most important thing to him. Feeling better but the cold is lingering.
