Erik showed up about 1PM Thursday afternoon and was ready to install our new battery tray and batteries.
Out with the old.
In with the new. Four Lifeline AGM batteries. They should last nine years and as they are sealed Colin no longer needs to keep adding distilled water every few weeks. Another task done away with.
Click here for more details about these batteries.
While Erik was concentrating on the battery install his assistant Gustavo installed four new hydraulic struts to replace those that have died in past years. Now the basement doors will stay open on their own.
The new water pump we installed last fall after the Alburqueque Balloon Fiesta has been acting up so Colin had Gustavo install a new pump that we had on hand. We were fortunate in that Gustavo had to wait for Erik before they moved onto another RV so we were able to use him to do a few things for us.
Good thing we did that. We have had a freeloader living in the water box. A small mouse nest which is no longer there. If you look at the first water tank photo above and look under the water tank, you can see see that the back area has white Styrofoam holding the water tank. That Styrofoam is missing to the right of the pump and and along the front of the water tank. There are now boards supporting the water tank. What a busy little mouse. Glad he prefers Styrofoam over wires.
We woke up yesterday morning to find that one our our new bougainvillea had no leaves nor flowers. I know it wasn’t the mouse but what?
Stunning sunset last night. Can you see the cruise ship?
Now you can.
A large photography production but once again everyone arrived past sunset for this girl’s quinceanera photo shoot. It is the celebration of a girl turning fifteen. There is a good deal of information on the internet about the traditions and back ground of this special celebration.

You will LOVE the new Lifeline batteries. We had 4 group 27 in our Airstream trailer that ONLY lasted 15 years!
15 years is a great testament to their product. You gave Colin a huge smile.
I use Fresh Cab in all my RV basement compartments and have not had one mouse take up residency in years. Also used Fresh Cab under a manufactured home and in our steel buildings in the fields of Nebraska. Never had mice after we started using it. Check out earthkind.com. Work great for us.
We never have mice except in this one area, and this is the second time in ten years. Will look into Fresh Cab, thank you so much.
Hope your feeling better soon! Love the pics of three sunset!
Thank you Cindy. Gosh if I were home we could sit side by side with our legs elevated 🙂
Rabbits eat my bougainvilleas. I put chicken wire around them until they get established. I think that you also have a problem with leaf cutter ants, They harvest and chew up the leaves to make their own fungus farm that they use for food.
Yes I think that is what we might have, leaf cutter ants.
Do iguanas eat Bougainvillea like they do Hibiscus? Whatever it is I hope you find it soon. Always amazed how the Bougainvillea can look dried up and nearly leafless and with a bit of loving care can come back and bloom so beautifully. That young lady does look way beyond 15 – enjoyed seeing these photos.
I agree with you about her age. ] As far as I know the iguana only eat hisbicus. Sadly we are getting a read on what is happening. Not good news. More next post.
We had lifeline AGM batteries, they are wonderful!
It’s hard for me to believe that girl is 15. I certainly didn’t look like that at 15. 🙂
I also thought that the girl looked a lot older. Great news on the batteries.
Yea!…It’s a new motorhome….I’d send my mouskie loving B.K. (barn Kat) down to help with evictions, but he says he wants to stay here…He does wonder if Mexican mouskies taste the same as north central washington’s.
Well I could save one or two and bring him a snack if you like. Colin just put out the mouse traps today.
I just asked my kitty-kat, he says thanks but he has enough around here….He’s out on guard duty now..
When he can’t find mouskies he goes after ants….I am not kidding..
For some strange reason we have an issue here I’ve never had in 15 yrs…
They show up in every area of the house so there’s no way to find out where they are getting in..Dang-it!!!..He also goes after spiders or anything moving, except me, thankfully…
