Emergency surgery
After many phone calls this morning I connected with a recommended surgeon. He was willing to meet up within an hour. So we rushed out and had the meeting. Dr. C is a very special person and I am certain a great surgeon based on his knowledge and also his reading of my MRI. He looked at my MRI photos and very quickly pointed out that I had not one but two major tears in my right knee meniscus. One lateral and the other medial.
So as of 11.25PM local time I am having surgery at noon tomorrow. At this point I still have no idea if the insurance company will pay or not.
All I can do is send positive thoughts out there.
I will post when I can……

Oh dear, oh dear – this sad news greeted me this morning. Prayers have been said and will continue for you, your surgeon, and all who help with the surgery and for Colin who will be watching and waiting and caring for you. Rest easy, heal quickly and well and get back on your feet without pain sooner rather then later. Big hugs from both of us.
so glad you are getting it done! – get the relief so you can enjoy the rest of the winter. the money stuff will work itself out. thoughts with you.
Contessa, I’m so sorry you are having such problems. But it sounds like you have found a wonderful surgeon and hopefully be back partying quickly. Prayers being sent.
Our prayers are with you Contessa for a quick recovery, and hopefully your medical will pay the costs!
We’ll be keeping you in our Prayers for a speedy recovery.
It’s about time.
Good luck on your operation tomorrow. Ken and Margot
been following your ordeal….marina hospital offers great care….your in good hands
hoping for a speedy recovery
I wnet to Marina to see my first surgeon but can’t suffer there prices. Had the surgery done at CEMEQ.
It sounds like you’ve got the right person to take care of you. I hope it goes smoothly and you’ll be back dancing in no time 🙂
Good luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes smoothly and wish you a speedy recovery!
You’ll get through this fine; everything you need is right there, wonderful warm weather, a car to get you back and forth to therapy, and Colin as a therapy coach at your vacation home to get you through the exercises. If you have a couple of pairs of somewhat loose Bermuda shorts to wear during exercises, some non-slip socks, and easy slip-on/slip-off shoes or sandals, that would be a plus. Beach and I are cheering for you!
I have to wait two full weeks before doing the physical exercises. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thinking of you and sending you positive thoughts!
All be best!
Paul and Jan.
Mabe for the best doing it soon. Stops the worry and second guessing. Something I’m great at.
I hope you will be able to get up and down your RV steps. See, I’m already worrying about that for you.
I was worried about those steps but with my cane I am acing the steps. I appreciate you worrying for me.
I am glad you are able to get this fixed sooner than later. We have heard nothing but good things from people who have had surgery in Mexico. What better place to recuperate in the winter as well. Hopefully your insurance company will compensate for some of it. If not, it is only money, health is more important. All the best and wishing you a speedy recovery!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Let me know if there is anything we can do to help during your recovery.
Good luck and happy healing. We will be thinking of you.

Hi, Contessa,
Happy New Year to you and Colin. Thanks for the Christmas greeting. It was extremely hectic on the farm this year, as we had some extra guests, and Mom was down in her back, so I was doing double duty. But overall, a good holiday.
I am sorry to read about your knee. But glad you are getting some answers. I had a meniscus repair in 2008. It was minimal trauma. I went in that morning, was out by noon, and drove myself to the pharmacy that evening. It took me a week to be able to circle the block on foot, but by the second week, I was walking without any kind of mechanical assistance or pain. So I trust yours will be the same. I laughed afterward and said my new “cleaned up knee” felt so good, I wanted to have the other one done. ?
Thinking of you and wishing you well!
