This past Monday, the hosting of the musicians continued but this time at the other end of the park over at Bob & Majories. They along with Darwin and Audrey offered to host the afternoon. It was fun to be able to just make a salad and cut up some fruit and go and sit and relax and enjoy the day.
There was a larger group as many others had been invited to enjoy the music. When we host we ask Tom & Mandy to do the invites as sometimes it is nicer for the musicians to just be on their own and to take a break.
On the right is R.J. Mischo, an extremely talented harmonica player, the featured guest for this weeks concert series. He is wearing a green scarf to keep the sun off of his neck.
Because there were so many of us, the venue was more spread out.
R.J. even played one of Colin’s guitars and sang a few tunes.
Tuesday evening we attended his performance at La Bohemia at the Plazuela Machado. It was so popular that they had a 5:30PM seating as well at the 7:45PM performance that we went to. They are now also doing a third performance on Wednesdays. Every week until the end of March there will be a very special artist performing along with Rob Lamonica’s band.
It was a privilege to be able to listen to R.J. play. He makes his harmonicas ( at times he uses several within the same song ) create music that you would never think you would hear from a harmonica. No wonder he is considered one of, if not the, best harmonica player in the world.
Between my 4800 steps this past Tuesday ( up from 2800, my max since surgery ) and sitting at the table with my leg half stretched out for a few hours my knee and lower leg were aching. So between using heat and my continued exercises I am back on track. I have missed so many of the jazz/blues concerts this winter but was happy to get to this one. A bit of discomfort was worth every moment to attend that that special evening.
I can’t stay in a cocoon forever and need to start to spread my wings – within reason 8-). Here I am 24 hours later and I am totally fine pain wise.

What make and model of guitar is that that Colin is playing? I’ve never seen one like it before. Can you give a bit of its history/provenance?
Thanks,
Wahnfried
I will have to get back to you with that info. Colin had a busy day today and I could not pin him down.
You guys are having some great musical interludes!
We certainly are and we likely would not have met all theses folks, well with sharing our site once per week.
Sounds like fun! Seems like your healing process is going smoothly, so glad for you. The inability to comment on blogs seems to be an Apple thing as I know another blogger who is trying to comment from her iphone and it lets her type it then it won’t go through. Not sure if it will work but there is a suggestion on this thread https://support.google.com/blogger/thread/3890477?hl=en
Thanks for the link, I actually tried that already but to no avail. Most frustrating.
As you say, at least the healing is going smoothly!
