Pruning and menu fun

Colin is not sitting still unless he is playing a guitar.  This tree really needed attention.

One day I walked into the kitchen and there was our dinner menu. In this case the salmon was a frozen wild salmon patty.

It took a lot of concentration in order to make the correct cut on a particular branch.

The third day in, the menu became much fancier.

I was happy to see that he had borrowed a taller ladder and was being very safe.

This was the meal served as mentioned on the above menu.

Mission accomplished.  Nicely shaped and now manageable.

Homemade pizza.

Home baked pies from a neighbour a few streets away.  Such a treat in these troubling times.  I have mentioned before that his wife loves to bake and he offers them up to whoever wants them on our park FB page.  We have now as have others started to offer a donation to pay for their baking supplies. We always sanitize the pie plate all the way around as well as the bottom. Colin has started to leave our gate open during the day so we don’t have to sanitize that when the landscaper comes or our baker delivers.  No one else comes by.

Please excuse the one word below but it certainly helps make the point.

  1. Contessa is that a new rain chain I noticed on your picture? Anyway it looks very pretty with the green and pink glass design. Being a vegetarian your dinners always look very creative and colourful. Nice touch with the menu.

Lovely to hear from you Marlene. Those rain chains were part of my decor when we moved in back in 2007. We have seen them overflowing with rain and also with frozen water. They are lovely. They remind me of mini vineyard baskets to pick the grapes. The menu idea was all Colin and it is fun. He asks what is for dinner and then in a while I see a posted menu in the kitchen. Fun!

  2. Colin might consider removing the smaller lower branches as well.
Your diet is quite different then ours but still quite filling.
The message may be crude but it makes the point.
Be Safe and Isolate as much as you can even after the restrictions are lifted.

    It’s about time.

I got this tree for Colin’s birthday probably back in 2007 or 2008 and he loves those lower branches. I keep telling him that if he dies before me that the first thing I would do is cut those lower limbs. He is not open to my message. And it is his tree so let him do want he wants 🙂

  3. Wow, a daily menu! Supper looks delicious. Dessert here consists of icecream usually and with rarity something else. Maybe 3 year old jello today (I’ve been meaning to make it lol) which may or may not work. I am not worried about the expiration date.

The menu is neat another creative side to Colin. Certainly fun. We might buy a small tub of ice cream 3 or 4 times per year and at the moment it is all gone. However these are extreme times so we might have it again sooner than later. I also have some old jello…good idea.

Nice to see your photos…I’ve been following along since shortly before you left Mexico. And now you are in another beautiful place. Hope your knee improves…and things go well.
    Thanks for posting.
