Back to Italy for April
Oh how I wish we were back in 2018 and we were heading to Europe. Specifically in this photo, our 2020 April calendar: top left is a scenic view of the the Amalfi Coast; top centre the best pizza ever in Naples, worth a return trip just for that; top right the business class lounge in Istanbul enroute to Italy; right centre was taken in the ruins of Pompeii which we loved; bottom right is the Forum in Rome and bottom left is Positano on the Amalfi coast.

I so love Pompeii. It was neat to tour to see where chariot wheels had carved out on the rock roads, such a huge place, we really had no idea how big the site is until we went. The idea of travel being on hold indefinitely is driving me crazy, as I am sure it is with you. But if that is the most of our worries then we are the lucky ones.
I just came across a facebook group (do you do facebook?) that documents the revitalization of Venice’s canals through the pandemic – alligators and even octopus have been spotted. You don’t have to join the group to look at the posts if you are a facebook member.

I highly doubt there will be any cruise ships in their waters for years to come, maybe it will stay this way for a while even if tourists come back
Thank you for the link. We have decided that at the moment that Venice is our favourite place. Much rather have the new sealife that the rats that ran in front of us three years ago.
I loved seeing the places in the road that had been carved by the chariot wheels. It sent shivers up my spine.
It might be some time before International Travel is allowed again.
