Last Monday ( July 27th ) we had another happy hour here. It was very warm but not unbearable in the shade.
We always have fun together. We later ordered Thai take out for dinner. Perfect, delicious and no extra dishes.
A lovely evening. One of our neighbours out for a paddle.
Once dinner was over we sat chatting.
Colin came out with his guitar. I like this shot as I got the refection of the moon alongside him on the lake.
Surprise! Thought I would see what the flash could do.
Jan and Paul invited us over for mimosas just after 12 noon the next day and surprised us with a lovely luncheon of lox, creme cheese and croissants. It did get hot after a few hours ( we were close to 94F ) so we headed home to relax in our A/C. Sadly it was time to say goodbye to Jan and Paul. Their reservation here at the Park was ending ( the park is full with no space for a few weeks ) and they were moving on but not too far. They very going to Swan Lake in Vernon. Hope to see them again before they head back to Alberta. We all had a great visit.
That evening Colin and I had a lite dinner, a BBQ’d wild salmon patty and so many veggies from our garden.
Everyday the temperature got hotter and hotter. This past Thursday it was 99F with the humidex when our power went out. It did not take long for the heat to build inside the house.
Colin took the golf cart over to the RV to turn on the solar panels. We had no idea how long we would be without power and if we would have to transfer our fridge. When it started to creep up over 84.5 at my desk I made an executive decision. I made dinner reservations 😉 There was no way I was going to cook inside a hot house.
We are so fortunate to have a restaurant here in the park. Once again we ended up at the Italian Kitchen. Only this time we were sitting inside because of the heat.
We were very comfortable as the tables were very well distanced as you can see. Everyone was very careful and kept their distance. We were asked to pour our own wine this time. There were lovely leftovers that comprised our lunch yesterday afternoon. The leftover wine is still in the fridge. No worries, it will be enjoyed. The power came on about twenty minutes before our reservation but we just did not feel right cancelling at the last moment plus I was hot. By the time we got back here our home was nice and cool again.
Another lovely sunset.

It’s down to 70* here now…TCM is having a Barbara Stanwyck 24 hrs show…So I am up late enjoying the old movies..
Today the high was 101*…..Yesterday 110*…..Yikes!..Too hot stayed inside….
Your lake view looks sweet!
Yes way too hot to stay outside. But I am going crazy staying inside. I just pop my head out the front door and go, wow blast furnace and get back inside.
We just had three days of summer and now back to the rain. Thunder and lightening on Friday night and it knocked out our power for 1 and 1/2 hours.
We were closer to two hours out. Fortis was here very quickly. We don’t know why it went out but there was a huge amount of electricity being consumed because of air conditioners.
I’d love Mimosas for lunch!! Your dinner plate looked yummy and I would have enjoyed it also, especially with homegrown veggies. Especially during the summertime we can predict at least one power outage with a thunderstorm. So great to have an RV on standby to use if necessary. That restaurant in your park looks like a nice one and any excuse is a good one to have dinner there once a while, I guess.
I am so loving our veggies. I really need to think about replanting some veggies and preserving them if we are going to be here all winter. It was great excuse to go to the Italian restaurant, however it can’t be a habit, much too expensive right now. They used to have discounts on Tuesday for those who live here but they are only open so many days per week at the moment.
Nice to have been able to Safely visit with friends while Enjoying the view.
Not good when the power goes out anytime but worse when it’s hot.
It’s about time.
I think that the power only goes out when it is really in need, either too hot or too cold 🙂 We have truly had great visit with our friends, they are both compromised but we are all doing the proper protocol and trust each other. However we still are keeping our distances.
