Well that is what the title of tonights post would have been before Covid. Today we would have left Kelowna and crossed into the US. We would have spent tonight dry camping in Moses Lake, Washington at the Walmart. Strange to find ourselves slowly preparing to spend our first winter in a long while here at home. It will interesting to see how we keep ourselves and the house warm.
This is what we woke up to on Monday.
A little too much cloud for me but if this is as bad as it gets, I can handle it.
We had happy hour Monday afternoon with friends from St. Albert, Alberta. Jim moved his chair closer to Colin for the photo but otherwise we were social distancing. Jim and Sharon are long time blog readers who are on their way west to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island to spend the winter. They usually travel thru the US and once or twice have driven down to Mexico. It was a wee bit chilly but after some vino you don’t feel as cold.
As we drove back from their RV site ( we took the golf cart, I am already a whimp re the weather ) we were treated to some wonderful colour in the sky.
I was inside and had no idea that Colin had slipped out to take this photo and the following one as well.
It was the closest I could get to an Isla sunset and it made my heart very happy. Hopefully this will happen a few times over the winter.
I definitely have some emotional baggage this year.

Covid has really messed up a lot of travel plans. We are going to miss our next door neighbors here in the park because they are Canadians. Seems really strange not to have them here. Loved your sunset pictures. Still hot down here and no clouds so no AZ sunset pictures.
Covid will never ever be forgotten, it certainly has left its mark on mankind in so many ways. Trust me your Canadian neighbours are going to miss you even more.
Hope you have the Side Covers so you can still use your Golf Cart through the winter.
Really nice Sunset Pictures.
I think we’ll all have emotional baggage for a few years.
Be Safe and Enjoy.
It’s about time.
Sadly we don’t have a gold cart cover for driving, just for storage. I just might be an early Christmas gift for you know who.
I’ve heard lots of snowbirds are now headed our way. I hate to think how shocked they will be when it gets below zero here or snows. I highly recommend investing in electric throw blankets to aid in keeping warm this winter, can’t live without mine (and have hubby addicted). Might have to invest in some really fuzzy slippers too 🙂
Even the snowbirds coming here for the winter will be in for a surprise. I did mention to our friends that it will be much cooler especially being on the water. Plus they don’t intend to skirt in their RV. I love the idea of electric throw blankets but I just purchased three really thick and fuzzy & warm afghans. However I just might put that on my Christmas list! I have slippers but not warm enough.Working on that next. I now have an electric heater at my feet next to my desk.
Oh but you must admit you have absolutely beautiful sunsets in your area. I would love to wake up to your lake.
Yes I have to agree with you. However we have been told that it gets dark and grey and you can’t see the sun for days because so many clouds are hanging at the bottom of the valley. We will see for ourselves. Hopefully I will also be able to see a few sunsets this winter.
My son was going to celebrate his 50th birthday on October 1 with a scuba diving trip to Egypt! Well, like your trip, it is now on hold. Someday this will be over!
Those last two sunset pictures where stunning!
