Que pasa
Life is passing by so very quickly that I am not able to keep current on this blog. What happened first? Oh well you just might get all the news in a jumbled order. Don’t they say, better late than never? It takes so much time to select and edit photos that I am now 8 – 10 posts behind. At least all the photos are in their separate folders and ready for me to use. It seems that every day spins out of control with some issue that needs to be resolved and of course each issue takes a few hours to handle. Colin is just days away from wrapping things up business wise, although there is a possibility of one more home to photograph in a few weeks!! We are trying to work with the weather, rain means computer work and when it is not raining we are putting both the garden and our yard to bed for the winter.
This pair of Colin’s glasses have been lost for 4 -5 weeks now. We turned the house upside down over and over. Suddenly they were found – locked inside the hot water on demand box on the outside of the house. We are having an issue with hot water and he had gone to check & obviously left them there. So it wasn’t until a few days ago when we had another problem that he found them:)
We harvested our first row of Swiss chard last week, the second row is ready as well. That bucket was packed with chard. Once cleaned I remove the stems I layer them on a cookie sheet and freeze the tray for 2 hours or so. Then we put them in a food saver vacuum seal bag and pop it into the freezer.
Guess what is coming sooner that expected.
We have gone through all of our clothing bins and now have some empty ones. We only have the Christmas bins left to sort but that will have to wait a few weeks.
I still have both windows sills full of ripening tomatoes.
I saw these ducks the other day, they were just passing through. A female and male Hooded Merganser. So very pretty.

Beautiful photos today. Your garden has been amazing.
Thank you. We both think that this is the best garden we have had over the past three years. Who knows what next summer will bring.
As always, I love the sunset photos thank you for sharing. You gave us a laugh about Colin’s glasses and brought back memories of Rex misplacing a pair of new glasses. We looked everywhere; his habit of laying his glasses down just anywhere does not make it easy to find them. Early one Spring morning I backed out of the garage and saw the sun shining on something on our rock wall. I had to see what it was and found Rex’s “new” glasses that had spent the Winter on the wall. Thanks for the laugh and the memory!
What a great story. I can’t believe that you found them all those months later. Colin laughed out loud when I told him. Hopefully Rex has better habits these days.
I wear cheaters to read…they are all over the house!
Cheaters are cheap. Its the $800.00 per pair that I worry about. Fortunately he has a few pairs.
It took me a couple of times, I learned to never set my glasses down where I may (did) sit on them…
Ouch! Thats an expensive way to change a habit. Colin claims that he is only allowed to put his glasses in the bathroom, on the kitchen counter or on his desk. Well it works most of the time 🙂
At least Colin left them outside. Normally I have whatever I’m looking for in my had but can’t see it.
Nice pictures as usual. Glad you didn’t mention the four letter word. It’s bad enough we’ll be here all winter.

It’s about time.
There are some cute cartoons out there. Colin’s problem is that mostly he sees better without his glasses depending on what he is doing, so he puts them down anywhere.
Once again, thanks for the wonderful photos, though once again, I am filled with envy at your garden harvest. Hooded mergansers are sooo flashy. Good shot of them. As I can’t see anything without my glasses, I never lose them because they are always on my face. I can’t imagine going without them, but easy to see how they can get somewhere….somewhere….somewhere if they can be laid down.
Yes I have to say that my garden was very bountiful this year. Yikes, sorry that was not my photo of the ducks. They were too far out to get a good shot. But my photos enabled me to find this photo online. It was very special to see these ducks. Sadly Colin missed them. I always know where my glasses are, usually on my face or in my hand being cleaned. I have been wearing glasses since I was 3. I always put my glasses on the bathroom counter at night.
You sure got a great haul from your garden. I finally threw out the last of my green tomatoes before we moved. And you do have the most beautiful sunsets at your place … great pictures!
We did and still are. I thank you for the mention of the sunset shots but really Mother Nature decrees what we see. My sunset shots from Mexico are the best.
I just went for a quick walk around the block……..I must say the geese here in the nations capital are really on the move this evening. Very large groups travelling together. Daughter lives in Dawson Creek where they had snow last week. Of course it didn’t stay but it was a warning of what’s to come. So sorry you both have to spend this
winter in Canada……
I think that we will survive. I certainly have enough heaters. And I just heard about leggings that come fleece lined!
