Wish we were able to do time travel

Our November 2020 calendar page. Marrakesh in June of 2019.

This was taken on the Isla this last Saturday night.

And shortly thereafter the same night. So fortunate to have a friend that shares.

I would be happy to be in either place right now. Actually my heart would rather be in Mexico. The sunset shots brought me to tears. I can’t believe that we are missing this.

  1. This will be a year we remember for the things we did not do.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It’s about time.

Ahh, but are you actually “missing this”?

If I had never been blessed to stand on the flanks of Guadalupe Mountain and watch the the sun rise over the mountain mist would the photo in my album still bring me to tears?

Yes I am missing the Isla. My heart began to ache when I saw those sunset photos I could smell the ocean and visualize myself standing there. The Isla is a great part of the last ten years of my life. I have lived there for 50% of that time. When I look at the sunrise photos that we took on our honeymoon in 1987 at the top of Haleakal?, Maui (10,000 feet up and freezing cold ),I do get tears because I remember every moment that I was there and how special it was.

All is well in Mazatlan but life for us and our few friends who made it here is not the old normal. No lunches, no bingo only four of us playing cards. Cooling down now to 12 or 13c over night. These concrete houses cool off and don’t warm up. Going to need to turn on the heat. So sorry you aren’t in your happy place on the Isla.

Appreciate the update. You are correct, it is not the same as last year and the years that came before that. I heard that it might be a cold winter there. Good to know that you actually have a furnace and hopefully windows that close. Having said that I do know of many that are not masking and traveling in packs as they have done in years past. So sad.

For the most part masking is good here but we aren’t downtown. The tour buses roll in to the hotels and resorts with large unmasked groups which is not good. We can stay safe here but like everywhere else…it’s up to us.

    Hi dear Colin and Contessa
Thank you so much for your lovely reply which is really appreciated and filled me of emotions. Hope deeply you come back to Morocco a second time soon and be sure it’s going to be amazingly perfect.
I know Canada and British Columbia is really cold in winter, but it’s an amazing part of the world whatever the weather circumstances.
I really love to check to read contessa blog,it’s always full of beautiful and very interesting details.
Take care dear Colin and contessa, stay always as you are full of joy and happy.

    Your friend Fawzy
