Winter Wonderland

It snowed from about 8AM Monday until close to midnight.  It was truly magical. It never stopped snowing for even a minute yesterday.

It was simply delightful.

The lighter coloured bottom third is the frozen part of the lake. Despite the snow the lake kept thawing.

This is the first time he shovelled. He had to do it twice.

I would say that I spent the majority of yesterday simply watching the snow fall.

With great care as to where we placed our feet we went for a walk. Love how the snow had settled on these  decorations.

We could not figure out why this fellow was removing the snow from his roof. Perhaps it was sitting on top of his solar panels. But he did do his entire roof.

We learnt that one needs to do this in order to keep the wipers from freezing to the window or to the cavity below the top of the hood.

So pretty.

That’s real snow sitting on Frosty’s hat and brim.

Colin surprised me with this shot this morning. The outside spot lights were on so that we could watch the snow fall while inside.

Good grief…look at all those windows no wonder you have to work hard to stay warm! That truly is a summer home. Marry Christmas!

Exactly!! We are supposed to be in Mexico as you are. Only we need to drive our house down so no go! So far today we have had the furnace on, the fireplace turned on full, three oil burner heaters and one electric heater for my feet here at my desk. Then the sun came out and we turned it all off. So nice to have natural heating every now and then.

  3. A lite dusting of snow makes everything look magical at this time of year.
Been keeping our Wipers raised like that for decades.
    Cute Christmas Story and Cartoons.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It’s about time.

It was more than a light dusting and it is still here on the ground and in the trees. Looks like a white Christmas. Lucky us, however it is going down to -18C tonight.

There is something soothing about the falling snow as long as you don’t have to drive anywhere! Merry Christmas to you both!

    Merry Christmas Eve!
I love this post! You sure are getting the initiation into winter. We had a few flakes of snow the other day when the storm went through and for the month of December we probably have had close to 8 inches of rain. Yikes! Enjoyed seeing the posts with all the Cheery lights. Just wanted to wish you both a Blessed and peaceful Christmas.

Thank you both. Yes there is a great deal of rain on the coast which is why we moved to Kelowna. Wishing you both a very special BC Christmas. Hope we are all back in the US/Mexico next winter.
