Que pasa
We continue to enjoy the daily changes of our lake and view.
Lots of fog last Monday the 4th.
Then it began to snow in the afternoon.
The flakes were thick and fat and then small and then large again. We are like two little kids calling out to each other to look outside the window.
Yesterday morning, January 6th it was above freezing with a tiny sliver of blue sky. Finally the roads were clear enough to walk with no fear of ice. Then a neighbour decided to throw snow from the pile he had shovelled earlier in the week onto the street. He kept adding to it every few hours. I guess he wanted ‘his’ snow to disappear faster than how nature would have melted it. All he did is make a mess as the snow froze overnight.
Meanwhile on the other side of the house we saw this. Well Colin did, as I slept in. I am having trouble sleeping at night and my best sleep is after 4AM to around 9AM.
We even had visitors.
…these were way way out on the lake, almost out of zoom range.
Yesterdays sunset. Even a little bit of colour in the sky makes me happy.
Today we took down Christmas. The red box is the outdoor tree and the white bag holds our outdoor white icicle style lights. The four blue bins hold all of our tree decorations, our indoor window lights and everything else I used to create various Christmas tableaus in different areas. The tall box holds our indoor tree.
It took about five hours to pack it all up. I made a point of sending another two bins ( that travel in the RV ) plus three bags to the RV where they will sit until the fall. If we are here next winter we will only have to add those items to what is under our house and we will be ready for Christmas. However we just might be back on the Isla and I will have all I need in the RV. Who knows when I will see our 2020 Christmas ornaments and decorations again?
Working on remaining positive despite the new Coronavirus variant strains. Not to mention our extended lockdown to February 5th.
Then I read about the Canadian Military whom most of us consider to be essential, not getting their vaccines until July. You can read about that here. Does that mean that we won’t get our vaccines until December 2021?

I don’t expect to be vaccinated ’til September. It will be a long wait. Meanwhile we keep doing what we have become accustomed to. Excellent pictures as usual!
Apparently Canada now has a link which will show you when you might be able to be vaccinated. I am the end of August. Coli is the end of January. This is nit going to happen.
I’m leaving my string of Christmas lights up on the porch for the duration….not only are there dark days of winter, but dark days in the USA. I hope the worst is past us, but it’s going to be a long week and a half or so…Anyway, thank you for the beautiful serenity in your photos. Fat flakes of snow. We in central Texas are predicted to have some tomorrow night…OK with me! No vaccines yet for any but health care workers in my small town. Though I do have a friend in San Antonio who has had her first shot! My age, which is 75, and with qualifying condition, or 2, or 3. Ha. I am glad for her. As a hermit, won’t cost me much to keep staying in……
We still do have our white lights all along the inside of our fence was well as inside out tree. I chose not to comment on the US political situation and inside post some nature shots. according to the “Official” rules here in Canada you and Colin should be vaccinated by the end of January. The is not going to happen. We are preparing mentally to be here for yet another year.
