We woke up to a lovely dusting of snow. The snow started about 9PM last night and we stayed up until it stopped falling. I would love to watch snow fall everyday.
So lovely to have the sunshine. It was about -4C but actually warmed up to 4C mid afternoon. A perfect day.
About 3PM as we headed out on our walk we spied two skaters mid lake. Rather dangerous as the ice has been melting and doing a bit of freezing for days now.
I can’t image the middle of the lake being safe. We have seen a few coyotes out over this past weekend and a royal treat – more swans. More on that in the next post.
Lovely sunset this afternoon. That dark curve along the lake must be water running under the ice. It appears each time the sun comes out and things start to melt ever so little. We so enjoyed the snow blanketing the ice today. We wake up to a new vista everyday.
Last Friday was our weekly day out of the house for medical appointments, grocery shopping, fuel purchase and library stop, etc. We were out for five ours which is about three hours too many. We have become homebodies and other than our daily walk we are happy to just be here in our warm and cozy home.

Very picturesque scenery when there’s a lite dusting.
The middle of the lake is always the thinnest but some never think of the Danger.
Staying in has its advantages as well as disadvantages.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Personally I believe staying in is difficult but it is the best alternative. If I planned my meals two weeks in advance instead of the one week we should only need to go out every two weeks. Fresh produce is our downfall as we use so much of it. I am getting better at making it last longer using those storage green bags.
I think those people on the ice are crazy! Yesterday was a beautiful day, we also enjoyed a nice walk in the sun and actually had to undo our coats at one point.
You are lucky to have such every changing beautiful scenery to look at 🙂
They were out again yesterday, here of them. Even the animal foot prints we see are mostly around the edge of the lake or not too far in. So glad that you are getting in some sunshine walks. Yes we are most fortunate to live here. We are happy to be here and now know that we can stay here until the end of our lives. No nursing home for us.
No matter the weather the view out your windows over the lake are always beautiful and interesting. When we lived in Toronto where we were overlooking Lake Ontario the scenery changed every day as the lake took on different colours depending on the weather and clouds. I enjoyed that very much.
I seriously am not sure that we would have survived this winter without our view. At least we now know that we will be able to winter here once we hang up the RV keys.
Contessa, I’ve got so used to being at home that I have no desire to go out and be around people. I think I’ve become a hermit.
Yes, I think this is going to be the new normal for a year more at least.
Lovely photos Contessa..!
Thank you but the ones you post from Mazatlan are far superior in my opinion.
