A very special visit

A few days ago we had this fellow drop in and stop on the branch caught in the water, just in front of us.

The sun was at the wrong angle but still it was a privilege to be able to witness this magnificent heron.

Then later as the sun was getting lower in the sky Colin spotted this Kingfisher sitting on our fence post.

We continue to be amazed by all that nature shares with us.

They don’t always sleep together.  But when they do and hug each other like this, it is so sweet.  They really do love each other as we love them.

A kingfisher! I think they are very exciting to see. Probably because they are much rarer here than the great blue herons, who apparently, if they like a place, can get along with everyone.

The call of the kingfisher is one you can recognize anywhere. What a cool sighting!

I love that Kingfisher. I’ve never seen one but I remember studying them as a child. Wow. The twins are darling.

  4. Great Blue Herons used to hang around the park and now we are seeing them along the shores of the river.
Always wanted to see a Kingfisher.
The Girls are cute the way they sleep.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It’s about time.

Maybe that’s the Blue Heron that I used to see at the mouth of the creek every morning. My guy has disappeared so maybe he moved over to visit you 🙂

    Great pictures!
