Que Pasa

They do love to share a bed most of the time. Yesterday they were certainly being twins.

First off I just want to say that I am/was feeling better until I had to cut out nests of leafrollers in both of our trees yesterday.  I thought it would be a 40 minute job and it went well over two hours. Colin helped when he could.  The hard part was looking up which pushed the back of my neck out of place.  No worries I see my masseuse tomorrow. Meanwhile as soon as the wind dies down Colin will be spraying both tress with a product he got from Bylands Nursery. He went to the nursery on Friday with samples of the nests and caterpillars. The worst infestation is in Colin’s birthday tree, the honeylocust. Click here to see how tiny this tree was when we first planted it. Amazing growth for ten years so we have to save it.

Colin spent most of yesterday building a second long ramp which will work for our second set of stairs here at home as well as in the RV with a small attachment while on the road. I will show you once it is complete. They are already spoiled and love to go in one entrance and out the other. Some of my new patio furniture for our new shed /front entrance patio area. I love that the chairs can recline in 4  positions not to mention the great foot stools.

This fellow along with his dog were quietly drifting along with a fishing rod in hand. Except he had his music turned up high.

The girls are really doing well and are paying more attention to the ‘no’ and the ‘off ‘. I only seem to say good girl when they do their business.  So many changes weekly and often by the day.

Did you know that dachshunds aka doxies are bred to back up? They are trained to hunt in burrows so need to know how to back up. Here Carlie is at the bottom of the ramp but Ciela changed her mind and went inside. So Carlie simply backed up.

Here is a link explaining that and a bit more about doxies.

Half way up.

Almost there. You would think that it would be easier to step off the ramp and come back up properly. This is an instinctive behaviour. How many puppies/dogs can back up a ramp?

Lovely end to a day.

The whole back up thing is hilarious! You just need to add a beeping sound to get the full effect!

Actually we both keep saying beep beep as we walk so that they get out of our way, other wise they get stepped on.

What are the rocks on the steps for?

    • contessa says:

They are actually fossils from my garden and I am using them to keep the pups from trying to jump off the steps.
