Time to transplant a special plant
I bought the plant on the left this past December and it has grown quickly. It needed a new home.
Once we found a new larger pot, it was no easy task to get the plant out of the tiny pot.
Colin decided that the only way to not damage the plant was to destroy the small pot. Difficult for me to see a ten year old pot become garbage.
The twins were eager to see what was happening.
Free at last.
This post had served us well over the years.
Guess who wanted in on the action.
We had to steal some soil from the garden area. Somehow all the extra garden soil had already been used up.
As you can see this plant is very happy.

Over the years our dogs have enjoyed being involved in the planting, well maybe not this one so much 🙂
We used to have stairs down to the beach. One year they got washed away. Then management built a wall to keep the water back but the wall was never finished. So now we have to go around to get down to the beach. I really liked my stairs.

Contessa, hi, that plant looks like a Coleus to me, if it is, It would have been much easier & workable to propagate it through stems versus replanting the whole thing. U could have saved the old pot with the mother plant & have a second colleus from the adult one in the new pot.

The girls seem to really LOVE Mexico. They may protest returning to Canada! The question is, do you take your beautiful plants back with you to Canada? What do you do with them?
Yes they do love it here. No we are not allowed to take plants across international borders. I pay the handyman here to water them. At least half make it thru till we get back.
Looks like you had a couple of helpful pups along with you every step of the way. The plants look great!
We love the plants. However the wind is very hard on them and it does get windy when we are gone so we are grateful for whatever survives. Plants are not expensive to purchase here. I have some very special ones this year wish I could find a place so that they service, working on that.
I love that tropical leaf with that hint of fuchsia! It’s a happy colour for me 🙂
Are you able to repurpose the broken pot either as drainage in the bottom of another pot or put the broken pieces in the soil and make it look like the plants/flowers are trailing out of it.
I agree with you, I would miss the stairs too 😉
I tied to come up with a use for them as you suggested but it did not work out.
