Change in the weather, snow!

We actually had the white stuff falling yesterday.  Just little flakes but it was snow and we are here!!  So to me that is a big thing.  Nothing accumulated on the ground but the surrounding hills are wearing a white blanket today.  It was -5C yesterday morning and it is -6 this morning and the forecast for tonight is -8C and likely to be lower with the wind chill.  Time to start thinking about freezing RV pipes and house pipes.   We have never ever winterized the RV and we do winterize the house but not till the day before we leave.   Lets see what today brings.

Brrr....

Collecting a few things including BBQ tools for packing! Yes he is wearing long pants, a sweater and a Gortex winter jacket!

The ice on the rain chain tells its own beautiful story.

While the road report tells a different tale.

Yesterday the forecast showed sun but it has changed 🙁

Today is our major packing and organizing day.  Only 5 more sleeps.

You got off lucky! We have about 4 inches of the white stuff in West Kelowna.
(We’re friends of Croft and Norma’s who’ve just moved to the Okanagan. Can’t wait to head south, but we’ll be far behind you as we’re here ’til Christmas)

Rod…..welcome to the blog. I have checked yours once or twice via Croft’s blog. When we get back in the spring we should get together. By then we perhaps Norma & Croft will come visit us all.

Bob…I do understand, you expressed yourself perfectly.

Cat…..and I am still shivering at 5PM and -8C already!!! Time to head south.

We got a foot of snow and it’s going to go below zero (f) tonight. Back up to unseasonably warm next week.

      Marty…..wish it was warmer here.

Rod……between us we will get them to visit.

Catheline…..sorry don’t do face book…..but oh my dear how very awful. to be ready to hit the road and be stuck in your own driveway. I will do a copy of your email here for those who want to know what happened.

“oh woe is me…….. here i sit in our fully loaded motorhome, ready to go. our hydraulic jacks won’t come up….. Alas it is Saturday and nobody works on sat.

When we got back from Texas this spring we had the trailer overhald, costing in the range of 10,000.00 Canadian dollars. I know nut’s. The jack were part of that overhall and now, well much earlier, they won’t work. So i sit, here in our motorhome, the house is all closed down and clean. Don’t want to back in there till next spring. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The only thing i can say is, it must be Gods plan to hold us here for a few days…..

      Breath.”

  6. Looking forward to it. Do you think you can get Croft to leave the Island for any reason other than Mexico??

  7. Catheline says:
