WINTER WONDERLAND

So it happened.  We are covered in a blanket of snow and at 9:45AM it is still snowing.  It started about 4:20PM yesterday….

We had friends in for appies and had a great visit and of course the time passed too quickly. Interesting how everyone prefers to sit at the bar instead of the living room.

Beautiful to look at but.....

On checking the RV Colin discovered we had frozen taps with icicles, on the inside that is.  It was only -3C while the snow fell but the night before it had been -9C and I guess the coach never had a chance to warm up during the day.  He put a few heaters on and all is well.  Too late now to winterize the RV.

The snow fell all night.

I asked Colin why the bikes were still outside, he said he "never saw them"!!! This set will stay here and we are bringing an older set to Mexico this year.

It was a struggle to get the girls to go out this morning. The ducks don't seem concerned.

Colin had to carry them out and Carmeh was in a huge rush to get back inside.

Caeli was a bit more courageous but did not like the snow under her tummy.

So here we sit waiting for the snow to stop falling and to melt. There is no way I am going over to the RV to work today. Lots to keep me occupied here.

This is the first time in the nine years that we have lived here that we have experienced this.  We should be sitting on our beach on the Isla!!  Our friends who are already down there are training the waiters from the hotel next door to serve them drinks on the playa.  Only three more sleeps till we leave but the question is, will we be able to?

Over 4000 kms or 2500 miles to go......

I guess we’re different from everyone else – we summer in Delaware – do the beach thing. The rest of the time is spent in PA – we don’t mind the snow. Your new home looks so pretty in the snow. It won’t be long, you’ll be relaxing on your favorite beach. Fingers crossed that you WILL get going!!!

Connie….it’s not that we don’t mind the snow, we both lived on the Canadian prairies as kids but we chose to move to BC to get away from the cold and now we have chosen to RV in warmer climates during the winter.

the Ducks….hmmm I think we were commenting on each others blogs at the exact same moment!!

Jannose…..easy for you to say. Do you have snow tires on right now? We don’t even have a shovel.

  2. Oh, believe me. Ducks are very concerned! It’s even cold here in AZ where we’re swimming around.

Just think how much more you will appreciate Mexico after experiencing a touch of winter! At least that is what I keep telling myself.

It took a rabbit in the yard to entice Chloe and Merlin to go out in the yard. They sidled under the deck along the house otherwise. Now they have a pretty path made in the snow. Can I hide in the back of your RV and go with you??!!

Marty…..we tried to tell them to go see the ducks but they were not interested.

Ena….love the happy hour part. -22C way too cold for me.

Wow! We were away over the weekend and I just checked your blog – absolutely lovely photos, even though the snow is out of place.
It was -22 Saturday overnight at the lake. A bit too chilly for early November but it looks like winter is here to stay. We’re lucky we can be inside so often, looking out, and enjoying the fireplace.
Happy last-minute packing and planning. Stick to that happy hour schedule! Hope all goes according to plan –

  6. The snow looks so wonderful from here, glad we are here and not there, soon you be heading south to warmer places.

George…yes the snow is beautiful but only for a very short time frams.

Chris….never thought of the Xmas Card idea. Good point.

      Kevin….keep it turned to HIGH!

Larry….rather be walking in the sand with a drink in my hand!

Looks like a picture postcard. That would make a great Christmas card! Don’t worry, you’ll be in the sun sooner than you think sipping on a cool drink beachside!
