Wedding celebration!

What a fun party?  I have to set the scene.  The wedding took place in Mazatlan and then everyone came back here to la Isla de la Piedra for the celebration.  The location was a narrow strip of sand located between Cordon's Restaurant and a private home,  often used by ATV's and horses as a path from the beach to the road.  The location was transformed into a lovely exotic location.  The bride works for Amaitlin, a developer hoping to build a garden city here on the Isla.  So far we have beautiful gardens and nothing more and it is likely to stay that way for many years to come.  She was able to 'borrow' hundreds of plants to create her own wedding garden.  If you look at the photo in my last post you will see the entrance.

This shot shows the length of the area with your back to the ocean. Amazing compared to the dirty roadway it had been.

Karen y Rafael

Truly a lovely spot. we were served all the tequila and beer we could consume plus a camarone pate, a fish cerviche and the main dinner consisted of a delicious pasta, a meat ( ??beef ~ we don't eat meat so I don't know ) in a sauce and the best frijoles I have ever tasted.

The band was from mazatlan and has to be the very best Mexican band we have ever heard. Very professional and a great array of instruments and voices and tunes.

The official toast, you could hear the love in the voice of the toaster ( lady in red on the left ) welcoming Rafael to the family.

The wedding party.

Some of the invited guests!

I think Colin thought he was hired to take photos, he took several hundred.

There was a wee mishap and my glasses were broken, a fork tine kept them together for the evening. Still working on repairs but have graduated to a piece of wire and tape.

Now that was a party! One of the best. Wishing the happy couple the best life has to offer.

  1. What a wonderful wedding. Did Colin get a chance to enjoy it or was he too busy taking pictures?

George…..Colin loves to take photos and that is his enjoyment. But we did get in one slow dance.

Connie……it was considering the area before hand.

      Elaine….it was just so natural.

      Bob…cutting edge is good!!!

I think the fork tine looks rather stylish. Maybe you could start your own line of “cutting edge” eye ware. Folks will line up to “fork over” the dough. *snort*

    Nice pics btw.

  5. Bob says:

Wait, maybe it’s “eye wear”. Right. My bad. It would be dinner ware if it were still on the table I suppose. A minor slip.

Both you and Marjorie look absolutely stunning!

The shot of the band is small, but it looks like the group that plays for Torres Mazatlan often. They are really good!
