A wonderful afternoon!
We spent a relaxing afternoon Thursday with friends Norma & Bruce (he went to Palm Springs with Colin to get the new car) at the Guisachan House Restaurant. Colin has done a few weddings here and the owner Jorge (master chef of many international awards) created a lovely luncheon for us and then treated us to delectable non caloric to die for desserts.
It is a lovely place to bring guests to. The flowers and heritage gardens are wonderful. We had noticed an elderly couple leaving while we were dining. This couple wandered about the gardens for a bit and then I commented that it looked like they would like a photo taken of the two of them. Bruce, ever the gentleman, hopped up and dashed outside to be of service.
What we didn’t realize until Bruce came back inside was that they had owned the property and surrounding area in 1902. They were just leaving Kelowna and heading back home to Manitoba. The fellow asked Bruce to please take their new digital camera and take some shots of the property as he was too shaky!! He wanted to be able to download them on his computer and send them to family. The couple are 91 and 93 years old and right in the swing of things.
It seems that whenever Colin & Bruce get together something exciting happens. Right now the two of them are planing something special so be sure to check in next week. Meanwhile Norma and I just hang out!!!
….and then it was time to go. But I truly enjoyed our few hours together and felt relaxed and happy. We all laughed and joked non stop.
