NO MONEY UPDATE
There are three HSBC banks here in Mazatlan and we will go to one in the next few days to try our ATM cards once again. Thinking back I believe that over the years we have only used an HSBC ATM and that was mostly by accident.
Meanwhile I have called our CIBC VISA people in Canada and unknown to us we are able to use our VISA credit card in any ATM machine and get up to $1000.00 per day cash advance. Great news. Of course going the cash advance route means I have to get money from our non CIBC bank to a CIBC bank in person to pay back the funds advanced. Not an easy feat from Mexico.
The other thing I thought about last night was to e transfer money to a fellow RVers Canadian bank from my bank and then have them get me the pesos via their ATM card.
So now we have 3 options. First is to try an HSBC bank with our ATM card, then the e transfer via a friend here in Mazatlan and the VISA as a last resort.
I guess we are no longer stranded. Thanks for all your help.

Whew! Good news!
Will your VISA cash advance be subject to crazy interest rates!?
I would worry about that a bit, before pulling pesos with your VISA.

Peter….I agree. First we will try the cards at the HSBC bank. We than have found fellow rvers who will do an e transfer with us if need be. VISA is the last resort but nice to know we have it.
