My roof, my roof!!!
Is that you Santa Claus??
Since we have been back we have discovered two inside leaks. One was a leak from the ceiling down along the fireplace. Not huge at all but a tiny drip, drip. We called in our fireplace installer who added tons more caulking up on the roof. He said he had no idea we had such high winds off the lake and that the rain could fly in sideways.
The next day we found the sunroom ceiling joining onto the house ceiling was leaking 🙁 This is much more serious. If you remember, the company that installed our glass sunroom folded after the owner passed away a few months ago. So we are now responsible for any problems.
It seems that the seam that joins the two roofs has a wee bit of a problem and if the rain is hard and the wind is strong and coming from just the right direction it can get right between the layers of the seam. Colin came up with a repair plan that would have worked perfectly. But Robert came up with an even better solution that will take less time and cost much less. He suggested using a self levelling lap sealant. Many many thanks Robert!
Just when I thought the roof was in good shape, early the next morning I heard a thud, followed by an even louder second thud.
Is that you Santa Claus?
Then I heard this deafening noise. Haaannnhhh! It was not one but two geese up on the roof. Caeli who was still asleep ran outside to chase them away but she could not see the geese.
Well not exactly true as we hear them and the ducks all day long but really we love it. Wish I could have got a shot of the eagle that soared part the window so close and so low but I did capture the moment in my mind.

It seems that “normal” has yet to arrive! It can only get better!
Noticed the metal dog sculpture in your photo, as a doxie owner I am very jealous. Did you purchase it in Mexico?
Janet….only you would have noticed. I think I saw it online on a doxie site in the US and had it sent. It is a memorial to the first doxie we lost. I will get a better photo for you.
George….thank you.
Croft….perfect…good to know about the roof.
The self levelling caulking sounds like a great idea, should do the trick.
Yes, you fix it the same way as an RV roof!
As far as weight, you saw the photo of Kevin and I up on the roof of Chris and Juan’s little trailer…..
What a beautiful place!
Chris….mi casa es su casa, whether here in Canada or on the Isla in Mexico.
