May 22,1953
Sixty years ago I was born in Edmonton, Alberta.
It was a Friday, under the sign of Gemini. The US president was Dwight D. Eisenhower (Republican). In that special week of May people in US were listening to The Song from Moulin Rouge (Where Is Your Heart) by Percy Faith. In UK I Believe by Frankie Laine was in the top 5 hits. The War of the Worlds, directed byByron Haskin, was one of the most successful movies released in 1953.

I remember that day I was 4 years and 2 days old.
To celebrate I had a Chef Boy-AR-Dee spaghetti and meatballs for lunch on my birthday two days ago!

Happy birthday! I’m still 2 1/2 years older than you, sigh. Today would be Stan’s late brother’s birthday too. He would be 74 today. Stan left for his trip to Reno and I asked him if he was commemorating Burt’s birthday. He said, “Why?” I said, “Because you’re wearing the jacket Burt’s widow gave you right after the funeral.” “I guess I am,” he said! You share a birthday with a very sweet man-Burt was a really good guy. I am very sure Colin will spoil you rotten!
