The countdown is on…
…only 9 nine more sleeps before surgery day and only 7 of them in my own bed!???!!!
So Jon has acknowledged his win of ‘the guess the object’ contest. He said in a comment on yesterdays’ post that he might have cheated as he is a collision repair shop assistant manager. I have no idea where he lives but it looks like he will be claiming his prize in Mazatlan, one day. Jon the prize has no expiry date. How cool is that that you actually lived and worked in Mazatlan. Please have your parents email me if they have any questions about Rving into Mexico.
Speaking of Mazatlan there is a new fish restaurant in town called F.I.S.H. and is being hailed as the return of “the grand dame of Mazatlán dining.” Yes, Sarah Emerson along with her son, Gabriel Ocampo. Click here for details. We can hardly wait to check it out in November.
Now speaking of fish I first heard about barbecuing tuna loins at Weight Watchers a few weeks ago. Sure enough I found them at a local grocer and they were even B.C. Albacore Tuna Loins. Once unthawed on Sunday, I marinated it in olive oil and soy sauce for a few hours and in our excitement with this new meal we neglected to take photos until the meal was plated.
I had to tear myself away from work late Monday afternoon as our new Isla neighbors were coming to tea wine that is. Last December we had a visit at our home on Stone Island . This couple just walked up off the beach and started talking ( and talking ) about RVing in Mexico. After a bit we discovered that they had just sold their home in West Kelowna and moved into an RV and moved into Holiday Park Resort where we live in the summer. Since meeting us they have purchased a lot here in the RV Park and decorated it in a wonderful Mexican theme….note to self….take photos for future blog. They truly love it here. Not only that, they have booked the site right next door to us at Tres Amigos RV Park on the Isla.
So of course we had to get together to answer their questions and give some suggestions, etc. We had a wonderful visit with them and I think I can safely say that the 4 of us will be perfect neighbors come December. Having read my blog they know all there is to know about the Isla. Heck they are already collecting things to bring for those in need.
John says ” this is the first time I can hardly wait for winter to get here ! ”
…and remember dear readers……..one good turn …gets most of the blankets 🙂

Nice to meet people here and there around the country, then they become your neighbors.
George…they are a very neat couple….we have years to get to know each other.
Chris….the tacos were perfection itself, best ever. Hmm maybe I am tired of dorado and shrimp.
Tuna looks really good! I bet the tacos were even better!
i guess I\ll meet them in decmember too
