Bad hair day!

Well for me it was traumatic.  Even Colin was upset as he thought I no longer looked like his wife.

Yesterday hair turned grey!

I have yet to find a great hairdresser in this area.  I have been looking for ten years.  The first few years I even kept going back to Vancouver to get my hair done.  About 5 years ago I found someone in Vernon, about 40 minutes away, but she quit last summer to go back to school to become an accountant.  I have been though a few locals since then.

I love my Mazatlan hairdresser. This is how I always look with her. I look like me.

This is my hair colour. I was a white blonde child.

I used a new lady earlier this June and it was okay, not great.  Shortly afterwards I thought the blonde was looking reddish.  Even one of the home care nurses made a comment about me being a redhead.  So yesterday I mentioned that to my new lady and she ‘fixed’ the formula she said.

My hair is more grey than blonde.

Colin thinks I look like an old lady now.

So I called my hairdresser Debbie ,in Mazatlan and she gave me some advice, most importantly to just leave it for now.  Next week I will go back to my local lady who will try a clarifying shampoo which might lighten things up a bit.  But the hair underneath is almost black.  My arrival in Mazatlan can’t come soon enough.

But then I have looked worse.

Class of '71. Thanks for sending me this Denise.

Colin had no idea which one I was.  It is blurry but I am 3rd from the left in the middle row.

Hey, I think grey looks great! (Just kidding, to each his own)

Deb has been managing my hair as it grows out, who knew short hair needed more appointments than longer hair ?!? She is amazing. I’m sure she’ll fix you up. Maybe you need to fly down? She is closing for vacation in September so come this month, ok?

Nancy…..I would love to fly down but once I can fly I will be heading to Edmonton to help Dad with Mom’s things. See you in November. I love the gray on you but not me.

George…you are sweet but I am a primadona! I need my blonde.

Lynda..gracias. Debbie from Tippy Toes. She is marvellous.

Bob..you are so sweet for trying to reach out. You are one of the few who do get ‘it’.

Rod….I will make a call and check it out. Gracias.

  2. Well sorry but I kinda like you new hair, but then again its is your choice. Mine and Suzie’s hair is what it is.
    No problem ya know.

You do NOT look like an old lady, you look wonderful! And further more, kudos to you for posting these great photos. I need the name of your Mazatlan hairdresser! BTW…we’ll be staying at the O’Kanagan Lake Provincial Park.

Sure looks OK to me. Seems plenty thick too.
But, my sister will still go to her preferred hairdresser in Ottawa if she has the chance. She’s presently living in Langley. So I suppose I ‘get it’.
I know I prefer one barber over another, but that mostly has to do with speed. The “boss” where I go is way quicker than his two associates.

Sylvia goes to Paul at Chatters in Orchard Park. Her style is very similar to yours, and he does a great job. No colouring is involved though.
