Who knew that celery could be so rich?

I certainly didn’t and have to thank my brother for pointing this out to me.

Celery, that often neglected vegetable, because it has nothing but water in it, is very rich.  Rich in nutrients.

I was amazed to read this.

It contains Iron, Vitamins A & C and even Calcium.  If you click here and once you are on the site click again on See More   on the bottom right, you will get an even larger screen that shows you what else is in celery.  Things like Vitamin K, Potassium, Folate and much more.

What a fabulous online site.  http://caloriecount.about.com/  You can go there and type in any food you might want to know the nutritional value of.  I think you will be surprised at what you are eating, both pro and con.

Thanks to Andre, my only brother, who has turned his life around by changing how he eats.

  1. Love celery so many different ways. Eat it every day for snacks and add to my cooking. Great website. Helped me loose 60 pounds way back when I was 14 years old. Think that was couple years ago right???

The site my sister mentioned is great for leaning about foods and counting calories.
In the last few days I have found this site which goes even further into the mechanics of food. I never knew that select foods when combined and digested together had so much preventative capabilities

We buy a big batch of celery every week. Love the stuff. But I’m not biased – I love all veggies equally. If it tastes crunchy or you can open it with a corkscrew, I’m a fan. That would explain why veggies and vino are my two favorite food groups 🙂
