Mazatlan water views
Last Friday enroute to our Enchanted Evening I took some interesting shots I would like to share with you.
Taken from the panga as we head across the shipping channel.
The famous Pacifico Brewery in the background. It was repainted in the past few weeks and now sports the name Corona, the new owners.
Those are tuna boats in the shot above. They were preparing last Friday evening for the opening of the tuna season which started two days ago.
A returning panga to the Isla.
The majority of the shrimp fleet is back in port. We see very few shrimpers out there now. If you look closely, you will see an overturned ship across the bottom left with a pelican resting on it, as well as a few tilting bloats on the right.
I guess there is no junk yard to send these vessels to.

What do they do with those horses on the beach that parade by most days?
Don, welcome to the blog. I answered you question in my next post but in a nutshell the horses are used for the day tourists. Mostly beach rides.
I don’t know about Willy, Gretchen, and Harley but a couple of my earlier dachsies would have been trying to herd those horses on their beach.
Longdog….no ours don’t herd but Caeli barks her head off. Carmeh just stands and watches.
Larry…nice to hear from you again.
George….one day hopefully you will return but it is more expensive than your bargain RV parks. To us it is worth every penny just to be on the beach.

Darn now you got me missing the water taxi rides into Maz. They are a great place to people watch.
Thanks for the tour off the area again, we did enjoy our two months there, and can no relive it again.
Aloha Looks like you are having a great winter. The weather in AZ this year has been great as well. Just finishing up our 2 weeks in Kauai and have had a great time. Wish we could snorkel in AZ! Even got to swim with a huge turtle yesterday. Enjoy!
Beautiful shots of the horses and sun’s reflection on the beach. I think we’ve taken that panga trip. Really enjoying your island time!
