Mazatlan Carnaval 2014 Parade ~ part 3
Looking back at these shots it really was a marvellous parade
A look to the right at the floats that have passed by.
There were many groups who danced their way along the parade route.
All great parades end with the horses.

It’s just amazing, the amount of work and skill that goes into these floats! You had a better vantage point this year. Two years ago it was okay, but we couldn’t see the walkers. You got a great view of them.
Marty….I think we did but you were with us in 2012 and it was a spectacular parade. We almost think it was better than this year.
Larry….thanks for your comments and all your explanations re the difference between Mardi Gras and Carnival.
Contessa. Carnavale floats would blow the best we saw at Mardi Gras out of the water.
Contessa. Those floats are a lot more impressive than anything we saw at Mardi Gras.
Beautiful! Each float tries to be more colorful and spectacular than the one before! They are indeed works of love…………
Welcome to the blog comments Barbara! You are correct, they are works of love. The fellow who was in charge of the parade floats passed away in January and his family lovingly carried out his designs. Who knows what the future will hold?
A friend of mine forwarded me your blog when she read mine and saw I was there. I really enjoyed your blog and will stop by again if you don’t mind. Just wish I had discovered and read it sooner as we left Mazatlan two weeks ago and are inland now. My boyfriend and I are traveling by motorcycles through Mexico and on to Central America.

Love your photos, Contessa and Colin! Really great. That’s a great location to watch from, we were in the Las Gavias roped off area one year with friends and it was a blast.
For those who weren’t here and want to see the entire parade, Cultura has it up on the web. It will be in the main video window for a while, then it will get bumped to a sub window… but it is great to see. They also live stream many of the cultural events in the Angela Peralta Theater and Casa Haas.

Beautiful and colorful floats. But those horses at the end are magnificent!!!! Again, wish we were there. Thanks for taking the time to share all the flare and color and people with everyone.
Your pics of the parade are beautiful. Always amazed at how much Mexico is like Spain, I know history of course but never realised that Mexixo is such a copy of it. They too have great festivals, but Mexixo surpasses them in this instance.
