2.5 day update!
We are really making progress. When we started I wondered how it would ever get done? Colin has much much more energy than I do. Because it has been overcast and foggy in the mornings we are managing to get a lot done despite the humidity.
We have met some new friends who really are not new as we have emailed back and forth, just new faces per say. Sue and Gerry are staying here at Tres Amigos, they live in Penticton, not too far from us but because of my Dad we never did get together this summer although we have corresponded for a few years now. We met Janet and her dog Boo on the beach ( hubby Grant we have yet to meet ), they are staying at one of the two hotels here on the Isla. Janet had been wondering about staying on the Isla versus in town and through my blog and photos a decision was made. Nice to have you all here on the Isla. Also Rae whose blog I have mentioned is a first timer to not only the Isla but to Mexico. We have had a brief visit with many more to come. She is staying at a fairly new duplex down the road.
With all of the work we are doing to set up we are away from the computer a lot. However we have had several job enquiries since we have arrived. Of course I am in daily communication with my Dad via whoever is visiting him with a cell phone. I can’t remember if I mentioned this before and if I have, please forgive me for repeating it. We use Magic Jack here to communicate with those back home. I recently changed our phone number with Magic Jack to an Edmonton number so that my family can call me at no charge to themselves thus enabling me to speak with them, Dad or even the hospital staff. I then purchased a cordless phone that would enable me to answer it anytime it rang should Dad or the MD want to speak to me. Before I continue, remember that we have an Apple computer. So when testing the system at home we ran into many problems which were finally resolved by fellow RVer ( formerly here on the Isla ) another Gerry who suggested I change the sound on my preferences to ‘Tiger” and it worked great. We were also able to hear the phone ring on an incoming call on the Magic Jack. Here on the Isla I do not hear the phone ring. I only get the MJ flash to accept a call or not. I had my sister call a few times and it made no difference where the sound preferences were set, no ringing of the phone 😡 Too bad as I am missing some calls. At least I get a message that I missed a call. I just did not want to be tied to the computer inside the RV. I do speak to Dad every day, usually after his dinner and he told me how he is going to miss my sunset photos 😥 How sweet. I promised him that he would see each photo once we get back to Canada.
We have had a bit of problem with Caeli this past 24 hours, severe diarrhea. It seems that at least 4 other pups have has this problem in the past 2 weeks. Spoke to our vet at home and she suggested some meds and a 24 hour starvation diet to be followed with a day or two of rice and boiled chicken. Some here have speculated that it is just a bunch of different types of bacteria in the soil and sand that is the cause of the problem.
No sunset last night due to all of the clouds. That is about to change very soon as is the decrease in humidity, thank goodness.

When you’re ready, let me have a look at your Magic Jack and computer. I have some experience with MJs and am, of course, an Apple person myself.
So glad you’re here! 🙂
Good luck with you magic jack issues.
Oh, that seems a long way to walk!!!
